My parents would always praise me when I was painting
There always was a picture I wanted to paint
so I spent most of my days painting

My family kept supporting me all the way
Eventually I left my home town
and entered an art school in a far distant city

There was no end to paintings I wanted to create
I believed in these peaceful days and in my painting skils

Until the day
I saw the Sky Golems with my own eyes

This world is peaceful.
People self-govern their various cities,
they come and leave, and they live.
There are no big conflicts.

After the Sky Golems come without any forewarning
they destroy the land with the Straight Thunders
and leave to somewhere in the sky
For more than a thousand years their existance has been nothing but doing this

By encountering them, I finally realized

Outside of the world I lived in,
the whole time, since before I was even born
the world had always been like that

But there is nothing to be seen anymore

I wonder if seeing the Sky Golems destroy everything made him stop enjoying painting. He seems very distressed in the later pages, nearly every time he looks at his sketchbook.
