How can anyone be so unversed in pop culture? I get that you haven't heard of japanese works like Tatami Galaxy, Haruhi, Muv-luv or Urusei Yatsura (fuckin 1982) that used this trope. Nor have you probably heard of La Jetee which is cosnidered the originator from 1962. But you actually haven't heard or watched Groundhog Day?

I mean just how closed to the world do you have to consider Madoka the originator of the idea? Maybe you also thing that Madoka invented magical girls? Hell, maybe it invented female protagonists in general?
