What's up with people making picture of anime girls with real life backgrounds?
I've been trying to find copies of these images recently since I remember finding them back when webrings were a thing. It's become sort of my holy grail if for no other reason than boredom.
Because people want anime to be real.
That's because I wasn't responding 2 u u feg
I have some kinda gloomy ones
I remember in one of these threads a few months ago I tried giving these things a name but it failed horribly, something like 欲する
Russians. They've had a hard life.
Film suffered wide changes throughout the years, specially consumer film as technology advanced
Also a lot of photographs were stored in varying conditions that degraded them in varying ways
>Isn't this how most of kyoani's shows are made?
>Just real photos with shitty photoshop filters?
too blurry/out-of-focus to tell
I get that KyoAni is a big ol' meme nowadays but saying retarded things doesn't make you funny.
>IT homos bow to him
>in contact with every BBS out there
>own a dozen monitors and lots of servers
>watched every anime ever made
>his tiling WM is riced to a level never seen on earth, such aesthetics only existed in unrealised designs of the old masters
>fell to 3dpd and formed a family
>they died in a car accident and he reformed into a 2D patrician
>lives in a room surrounded by his anime figurines and his computers
>it's said to be actually dead
I think they're mostly traced photos and not just filters. I remember seeing all the side-by-side anime vs. real pics in the Haruhi and Lucky Star days and there was just enough difference that they had to be drawings and not photos.
it would be quite alien since they do not conform to euclidean geometry.
>a mouth that can open wider than the apparent surface area of the face and appear in different places
>a nose that is not visible from certain angles and yet casts a shadow
>sheet or lobe-like hair that warps as they move, possibly with different colors on each side of the sheet
>ever shifting gradients
>flat face that always moves to meet the observer
think about it
>just dumping your indoor shoes in a bag in a common dressing hall
Must look barbaric to the Japanese.
Russia is pretty bleak, like the sky is grey most of the time, the buildings are also grey concrete. The winter isn't really that bad like one would assume, what actually sucks out your soul is mud seasons in autumn/spring.
It's called "alcohol delirium".
Why do you think he defected?
I always wondered how they'd pull this off with Akagi / Kaiji. I still don't know and I assume the reason why I can't recall it is similar to that phenomenon with the fractal parrot that causes a brainpanic.
This is actually a problematic and important thing, because VR anime
and hentaiis going to be coming before too much longer, and somebody's gonna need to figure out how to make anime that doesn't look like shitty MMD but which works in three dimensions.
Like food? Consider the interior volume of the head of an anime character to be larger than its exterior volume. Which means it can fully engulf the object even if it is larger than its apparent volume.
Different meshes for different viewing angles. You probably shouldn't get too close in VR otherwise there will be a problem with showing each eye a different model.
>you will never feel as though your shitty apartment and life doesn't matter because you live with the love of your life, who's a cute girl
That makes sense. Maybe our hypothetical 2D girl in the real 3D world would just have some reality-bending power to always present the appropriate "mesh" to the viewer.
I guess the alternative - both for VR and for our imaginary situation - would be having them just be giant figurines or maybe life-sized Dollfie Dreams if you want to skew more "realistic."
Oddly enough I can't decide if I'd rather run away in terror or have furious sex with the second possibility
>that doesn't look like shitty MMD
I like MMD...
Reality lacks a cartoon shader.
I find learning about, and making them, slightly therapeutic.
Explain why do figures look nice then?
Anime can work in 3d space without looking out of place.
Just get the scientists to reverse-engineer this car's paint job.
Alternatively forget VR and build robots that look like animu.
I actually know some cosplayers who've used makeup in a similar way, to pretty convincingly make themselves look like Borderlands characters.
Anime would be harder though.
Because they're small and static. If you've ever seen one of those life-sized anime girl figures in person you'd know they're already kind of creepy, and seeing one move around on its own would make you want to unload a shotgun into it.
Papermoon dolls do a better job, but they look less like actual anime girls and more like giant dollfies. Seeing one of them alive would still probably be terrifying, too - just imagine looking into a living human eye the size of your fist, among other things.
Color filter matching the light; sometimes you need to use different colors for light and shadow. The biggest key is the character needs to be correctly shadowed to match the light direction in the first place, and often you'll have to draw more shadows, especially occlusion shadows.
It's called palette locking. You put an image into Photoshop and then create a range of colours based on the ones used in the image. No image has every single colour in the spectrum. Furthermore, there will always be certain colours more dominant than others. You then draw and colour in your waifu. then Using this "locked" palette you can limit it's range if colour.
You can sturst me. I'm a perfosional.
>mfw i immediately heard the song when i saw these pics
best ED of 2016, maybe the decade
Less than a month after he was elected to the Senate, Joe Biden's wife and daughter were killed in a car accident, leaving him alone with his two sons. For weeks afterwards he would walk around bad neighborhoods at night, totally sober, looking for someone to fight in the street. He was 30 years old.
That explains everything
What's this kind of filter called? All of these have a filter that seems almost hyper-real - the sharpness of the colors with a slight blurring. I really love it.
thats a really sad story. it doesnt make it okay to go around groping women and children in an attempt to fill a hole in your heart, though; especially when you're a high ranking public official
I'm no stranger to autism, anon. What I meant was that some of these are extremely well made, which obviously requires an absurd amount of time but also the artistic ability to visualize realistic lighting on fictional (animu) surfaces. Spergittude and talent don't always come hand in hand, and I'm glad there's someone out there living the dream, spending thousands of hours shopping anime girls.

They are truly heroes.
I'd honestly like to find who's doing these and learn from them. I have both the autism and the time - all I need is the training.
Even something as simple as a :D mouth already shows issues
lighting also isn't kind to them
>sign up to view this post
>requires phone number
I don't trust the Russian
It's also important to control the light; where does it come from and how would it interact with the character.
Thank you anon
I am not sure if there is something more complicate than perfect blending anime girls with real world. Though I'd like to see some images in happier and more lighted places, something like Spain, Greece, Italy, you know.
>tfw desolate slavland makes for a good background
Who would've thought
I wish I could somehow rip the whole account but >russian internet
Guilty Gear Xrd had the same problem on the first release (Sign), where if you rotated the model in any pose it would screw with the looks in any other camera angle besides the intended one
However from Revelator second system's update, they somehow fixed it, you can now rotate the model in any camera angle and it will sill retain "most" of its 2D look
Why should it?
>Try to interact with my own drawings like this.
There's truly no point of keep on living
Pretty much every post-commie country. Not a russian, but I feel it.
I'm not trying to be inflammatory here, but this almost reminds me of those autist mlp fans who draw themselves with their favorite horse. Thing is, those are exceptionally terrible and autistic, but these are different.
Is it the lack of an actual subject (as in, the artist isn't in the picture themselves, thus limiting the cringe-factor, the single-target audience, and the "seeing a disgusting fatass next to a drawing"?)
Is it the overall quality and work put into many of these?
I really do like these, though.
The quality. But this is done by one guy, so I'm sure there are some autism-tier out there.
I think it's the quality combined with the fact that there is no subject, as you said. It takes away the delusional aspect.
Plus the contrast of the stereotypic Slavic post-commie bleakness combined with the ultra-escapist anime really works well.
>*Throughout January and February 2008, the Japan Foundation sponsored digital animation production workshops in Jordan, Qatar, and Syria.
There could be a guy huddled in the basement of a bombed out building in Aleppo, staving off thoughts of hunger by drawing his waifu on the wall with his own urine. Makes you think.
Do it. I kinda want to try my hand at it
>Plus the contrast of the stereotypic Slavic post-commie bleakness combined with the ultra-escapist anime really works well.
Definitely. It's legues better than some autist's normal looking bedroom
The equivalent of those ponies images are the images where the guy is in the picture with some waifus, these are different, plus the poorfag side of it makes it dissonant enough to cause some sort of reaction.
I just realized I never take picture of the depressing shit. How optimistic of me
I mostly have nature so if anyone wants to share go for it
I hate that I still haven't organized my pictures, 50k images later.
What the fuck? How did you notice it? Yes, the background is actually from West-Germany.
Slav and had the joy of traveling through eastern slavlands so experience I guess. No way anyone would maintain the commie block facade like that unless it was just built....
Suspected it was from the GDR though, not the west.
>find a chair deep in the forest
This is my favourite and it's American.
People might think of the US as being less bleak than Russia, but large swathes of it are frozen in a times when it was better. There's a poignancy to those places that I can't describe.
The worst part about stuff like this is knowing that while we can make it LOOK great, we're nowhere close to the point where you'll actually be able to reach out and grab that ass, much less feel her as she's on top of you or whatever else you feel like doing.
We need to hurry up and invent SAO-style VR already.
Thanks anon. I'm sure your EE shithole isn't that bad, you jsut have to find the right places!
I think that all the Slavlands are beautiful, you just have to find the spots. Hiking is the one national tradition I practice the most.
what gets me is even if they make vr good they still won't have a game with my waifu on it so I would have to wait until there is one with a god-tier character creator or some shit like that
We're making progress for sure, just gradually. Nowhere close to letting us feel the texture of skin under our fingertips or lewder things.
I actually once tried out a system that simulated G-forces through inner ear vibrations. It was over 10 years ago (Siggraph '05 I think) and incredibly realistic but never hit the market, I think it was making people puke after a few minutes or something. Still, it shows that artificial sensory stimulation is possible.
>We're making progress for sure, just gradually.
>Nowhere close to letting us feel the texture of skin under our fingertips or lewder things.
I think it would be 203X-something.
>I think it was making people puke after a few minutes or something
Gotta love old technology.
The level of VR we want will never be mass produced for the average citizen. It'll be so expensive that only the rich will be able to afford it and they're not even the ones who need it.
Rich people don't need escapism. They can run off and go on vacation any time.
if it's only made for the rich then there'll be no software for it. being rich can only do so much. it's not like there is a separate technology stack just for rich people. even supercars are mostly normal car technology tweaked for high performance.
Oh man, can you imagine the character creation process on a full-sensory VR sex game?
It's actually a pretty interesting thing to think about. I see it becoming kind of similar to the onahole market, with everything from laser-scanned official porn star models to popular anime characters to total non-human fantasy fucks available. Obviously "multiplayer" will be a thing too, and I can even see things like dating sites where you have to use an accurate avatar and can "test-drive" a potential partner before meeting them in real life. It's a pretty crazy future.
I can only hope it's that soon. I'm not even that badly in need of the escapism but I don't want to miss out on the waifu-fucking or the non-lewd adventures.
I dunno about that. Tech like this might just eventually be a replacement for how we use TV, PCs, and game consoles now, not a hardcore escapist thing.
I also see a lot of appeal for rich people who can't do things in real life because of their responsibilities or high profiles, but could in VR. I know quite a few very wealthy people (a bunch of $1M/yr and even a few $5-10M) and many of them are still into escapist stuff like anime and video games, too.
>Well, computers were something like 20k$ per month to rent at some point.
>Tech like this might just eventually be a replacement for how we use TV, PCs, and game consoles now, not a hardcore escapist thing.
I hope I live to see it.
>I think it would be 203X-something.
It's almost 2020s now and we're barely seeing stuff that was basically lab bench 5x1 pixel custom-made research projects moving to 15x15 pixels tech demos built from semi-expensive standard electronics at some tech conferences for example.
Things aren't moving that fast.
But Aleppo has been liberated by the glorious al-Assad
Shooping 2d characters on to the 3d plane has been a time-honored tradition ever since the internet and mspaint existed. What the bronyfaggots merely did was copy something that was already beeing done by cringey weeaboo fucks since time immemorial.
>Russia is pretty bleak, like the sky is grey most of the time
Fuck off, St. PetersBURGER. You're not all Russia, you're just a dumping ground for Asperger students and pretentious fags. KYS.
That's no lens flare though, the light at her back is part of the scenery, I just made it so that it'll look like she's partially blocking the light and illuminates the rest of her face. Hence it's also important to control the shadows and add one if necessary.
I really liked Calamity Trigger, but the translation of Continuum Shift just made me angry. Felt as if they had hired commie.
continuum shift was shit, calamity trigger was pretty good. chrono phantasma pretty damn good aswell. i fucking hope they port central fiction to PC, not holding any hopes up though.
Why do people keep forgetting to resize their window before screenshotting?
