This isn't even true. The only time the VN format hinders an anime is if it's a situation where the "true" route builds off of a bunch of shit you learn from other routes.

If the people doing an adaptation chooses one route and sticks to it instead of doing this shit where they try to fit like 4 routes in a 12 episode anime then it's fine.

I'd always put the LN first, as that was the original intention which VN usually follows, than it's Manga > Anime Original.
