Gundam doesn't delve much into politics and rather usually handles the ideology associated with politics.
The most in depth Gundam has gone into politics was 00, and to go even farther the side material and background lore for SEED it's actually some really good stuff even though the series is shit

But if you're looking for mecha action on the side you'll be satisfied here.

I know, but on the surface aesthetically and through their genocidal actions Zeon is given a coat of paint that makes them look that way.
In terms of actual beliefs and actions Zeon is definitely closer to imperial Japan/North Korea/Communist Vietnam, but their views on spacenoids/earthnoids can be viewed as Nazi analogs.

Literally nothing of meaning ever happens, the main character just wanders from movie set to movies set for four arcs, wearing comedically thick plot armor, never getting any character development or being involved in meaningful, memorable storylines.

There are a lot of bad anime where I can atleast get why people like them, but I just don't fucking get why anyone likes VOTOMS, it's the definition of an anime that fails on every level.

The mecha designs and occasional Chirico memes on /m/ are the only remotely likable things to come from it, and they're not worth the boredom.

My understanding is that they are struggling to choose between hydraulics and electric servos. Mainly electric servos are still too primitive for the job they do, and that traditional hydraulics are more robust.

In the case of Handle, it solves the issue of walking being inefficient by adding wheels. Mimicking humans exactly is a fool's errand.
