Itachi was hands down the worst trash in the series. The amount of cock-sucking he receives from virtually everyone in the manga should be illegal, entire story of Uchiha brothers is just ridiculous, considering Itachi's idea of protecting Sasuke was turning him into a psycho and all his powers are just massive "fuck you, I win" asspulls.
His entire character is nothing but a garbage writing, shamelessly sold as the hottest shit ever. And some people actually buy it.
