What the fuck /a/
I thought this anime was supposed to be a masterpiece, but watching it is like mental exercise. There's approximately 2.8 billion fucking words flying through the screen when the narrator is talking, but when characters talk it's fine. Dropped after two episodes. Am I missing something or is just supposed to be for pretentious people who think anime screenshots deserve to be in museums

Biggest problem is the formula gets stale after a while, but it's still good overall

I can read subbed anime fine typically (hell, my favorite anime, Kaiji, is subbed) but the narrator talks so fast that it even hurts my head just listening to it let alone reading it
Pretentious or not, it really would've benefited more as a movie than a 12-episode series. Some episodes simply did not provide anything noteworthy or enjoyable, but conversely there were moments were Yuasa's direction genuinely shines.
>tfw you realize the only criticism of this series comes from literal brainlets who simply aren't able to keep up with the quick, nihilistic, and wicked funny dialogue
Further proof Tatami Galaxy is underrated.

I watched the whole thing and completely understood it. It's pretentious, repetitive and poorly paced trash. I only forced myself to watch it because /a/ praised it and I kept waiting for it to get good and it never did.

When the ending came, I was like, "REALLY? THAT'S the point? I already watched Welcome to the NHK, I didn't need to sit through fucking Endless Eight a second goddamn time to be told the same fucking thing NHK already told me in a more eloquent manner."
I thought Yuasa couldn't get more pretentious than this, but then he had to go an anime that looks like Muhammad Ali drew it while sitting in an electric chair.

>but then he had to go and make an anime
FTFM. Yay vodka.
Oh, wait, Muhammad Ali doesn't have Parkinson's anymore. He's dead. Thank God. Spokesmen for people who think fucking 9 year olds is OK, man.

Understatement.

are you pretending to be retarded?
if you really can't keep up, then maybe read a book instead of watching television.
How is Yuasa or any of his works pretentious?
