It's not about power, you're looking at it with the mind of a retarded child, the same mindset Naruto had in the beginning of the manga when he was screaming I want to be the strongest and become hokage.

Later on Naruto learns it's not about power, you become someone people look up to by being a good person, by caring about others, by helping others.

Defining yourself despite your circumstances was the theme of part one it kinda sucks when the themes don't spread through the whole story but in second part even naruto's own focus goes from himself to sasuke, so it's kind of forgivable.

The whole show was rotten from the beginning though. As an unsupervised retard with infinite chakra it's strange that he has never tried any complicated jutsus. Like I can imagine a retard like narudo trying all kinds of random seal combinations and finding out that he is capable of some big ones.

I literally dropped the story as soon as everyone else that Ichigo brought over just so happened to also have a power.

I've got no issue with a plot that establishes that powers are fairly common, and the MC finds himself pitted against powerful enemies and they gradually scale up.

Hell, even in a setting where powers are rare I can buy the MC having them, and then making friends who also happen to have them by proxy of doing the same thing the MC is.

Hard work can trump natural talent, HOWEVER if someone with natural talent works just as hard, you'll never be as good as him.

Naruto is an absolute catastrophe in the story telling department because Kishi has this absent-minded style that lurches along in awkward hops.

After a short introductory few arcs the series gets inundated for the next course of half its run by over-focusing on Sasuke, giving rise to the oft-derided element of the fact that it feels more like his series. But then around halfway it's like Kishi suddenly realises and dumps some power ups on Naruto, reveals his ancestry hurriedly and suddenly it's all about him and Sasuke is crammed off to the side and completely irrelevant. The pacing of all of this feels so awkward and hamfisted, and it only gets worse because in the final war arcs Kishi suddenly remembers all the side characters he forgot about and tries to cram them all into the frame and pretend like they've been relevant all along.

The end result is a mess where Sasuke's overexposure at the start amounted to absolutely nothing (seriously the only reason he's even allowed to live after his fight with Itachi is because the villains hint at needing him for something... but nothing ever comes of this) and the villains themselves are written backwards so that they're ultimate goals and motivations become known but as we spend more time with them (Tobi and Madara specifically) they're actual personalities and behaviours seem to clash with their own goals, to the extent that it feels fakey that they were even moving towards this pseudo-instrumentality plot in the first place.

All of which culminates in the greatest ass-pull ending to end all ass-pulls.
