Sounds interesting by the plot alone, but the grant their wishes part sounds like a dumb plot device. Couldn't it just be about survival on an alien planet or something?

Got a script for a Danganronpa 3 Anthology that needs to be edited so the script reads better. It's about 70 pages of TL and the translator did decently enough but there's a lot of engrishy lines that need to be fixed up or straight up double checked. The rest of the anthology was TL'd so I just need these last 70 fixed up to move ahead with typesetting. If anyone's interested in helping just email me at [email protected] I can provide raws and everything. Pic related is the anthology in question.

If the colors and borders are well defined, you can use the bucket with a threshold of around 30 or so and it will get rid of quite a lot of stuff. I think 32 is the default. That is already pretty good.

What's the best method at exporting saves works? I'm trying to learn about scantalation methods and can't too find much resources.
I was looking at resources online and found 'http://www.insidescanlation.com/etc/How-to-edit-manga-with-Photoshop/rawr/editguide/3.html' on saving scans.
Is this the common method to export the work or are there newer more up to date resources?

Probably caching. They added a bit of JS somewhere that outright deletes the toBlob() and toDataURL() methods that are used to drop the canvas, the scripts haven't broken at all really they just can't call up the most essential part of it.

They do it on the prototype itself. It's just two tiny little lines of inline script, apparently some of these adblockers can handle that kind of stuff so I'm trying that out.
I also tried adding a bit of userscript that runs ASAP and saves the method but well, can't really beat an inline script.

I've been trying to download different things and so far the scripts only fail when you try to download light novels. Manga is fine, but light novels are fucked.
My guess is that it happens because LN have images that are not part of the canvas, but are just put on top of it.

How can you call yourself a TL/Scanlator and use the browser that has the worst font rendering system for Japanese because it shits on kanji, don't even notice that and keep using it?
>>
>>153546314

Why would you use your browser while translating?
>>
>>153547100
You don't necessarily need to translate from a browser. You can browse with a browser.
>>
>>153547100
Why the fuck not?

I'm using it all the time to check Japanese dictionary sites and Google in general when translating shit to make sure I haven't gone full retard.

And don't you have to use your browser to scour Japanese sites to get to these raws, or increasingly even simply for learning Japanese?
>>
>>153547226

I have an offline dictionary because I travel a lot. Never seen any problems with Chrome rendering UTF-8 though.
>>
>>153545630

Huh, well the flip-through script does seem to work on Firefox. It always skips the cover, but that's not a problem since I can just use the older hook to get the cover.

Image quality seems to be the same. I know that mindl has artifact issues and looks worse than these canvas dumps. For now this works.
>>
>>153547524

Scanned PictureBox's English print of Nemoto Takashi's Bureiko Lullaby. It's a raunchy comedy about the tragic life of a sperm given life via a nuke that as detonating nearby while the dad was jacking off.

It'll be up here in a bit.

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/r0kmsxgkrwxc3/

>At long last, this underground Japanese classic has been translated into English. A seminal work of manga from the mid-1980s, Monster Men Bureiko Lullaby is a Candide-esque tale--if you can picture Candide as a mutated sperm brought to life by radioactivity. Unremittingly explicit, this is the comics equivalent of Henry Miller at his best: direct, honest and insightful while simultaneously beautiful and grotesque. Tokyo-based Takashi Nemoto, who was born in 1958, has been called the R. Crumb of Japan: Nemoto and Crumb share a similar, surreal drawing style and pessimistic, satirical stance, for which both have faced their share of negative criticism. Due to his unapologetically squalid subject matter, Nemoto has long been a controversial figure in Japan--clashing violently with mainstream Japanese morals--and is just now receiving some critical success there. Reviewers are finally looking past his gross-out humor to find far-flung influences and connections like Mark Twain, Otto Dix and Andre Masson.

Wear gloves because you'll probably get a bit of glue on your fingers, and if you're a greasy neckbeard you won't damage the paper.

Use an iron with a shirt over it. Just don't breathe in the fumes if you buy some cheap Chinese shirt.

Examine the book first. The first page is usually glued directly to the cover, so you have to heat the face edge of the book to soften the glue so that you can remove it without tearing the first page.

After heating the glue on the first page, slowly pull the cover off from the edge. There shouldn't be any resistance because the glue is melted.

After you pull the cover off, you're left with the pages. The pages are held together by a layer of thin paper. You want to get as much of this off as you can, because if you leave it on and it dries, you might rip a page later when you're pulling it apart. I press the edge of the spine against the iron (with the shirt over the iron). After you see it starting to melt, you can wipe it off by pressing the spine against the iron and sweeping in one direction. I usually do vertical first to get the layer of paper off, and then sometimes side to side to wipe off the glue. Again, be careful of fumes. You don't want to inhale burning glue.

After that, it's just a matter of firmly and slowly pulling the pages off. Get a wide grip on the paper, and gently pull it away from the spine, starting from the top of the page. Depending on the bind quality, some pages will fall right off if you've wiped enough glue off. Re-heat the spine with the iron every so often. Sometimes pages are glued to each other, so check the next page before pulling it off. If they are, you need to try and heat the face of the paper near the edge so that you don't tear it up when you pull the pages apart.

Some people use microwaves, but I find that to be very easy to fuck up and burn a hole in your book.

I can't seem to understand how these rippers work, no matter how I try.

Would someone mind ripping Baki Domoe from EBJ, if possible? It would be a venerable courtesy.

>Topaz denoise
If this doesn't work, attempt to Topaz Denoise + Topaz Clean.

If that doesn't work attempt to Topaz clean in isolation. Surface blur can sometimes yield results if you set a low threshold and the colours display little variation.

If that doesn't work and you're only looking at one or two images I would manually redraw the most affected parts in PS (with pen tool but not by tablet, if you want to freehand redraw SAI is a far better option than PS as PS's brush handling options are awful with the exception of numerous tools such as but not limited to clone and the content aware and other manipulation tools.

Paint bucket is the shitty last resort as it will erase the lines and may cause visible marks where it dumped itself where it wasn't supposed to. Make sure you mask it properly if you have to use it.

Is there any real reason to use the newer photoshops?

I've been using CS3 for many, many years now. I tried using CC2015 a while back, and I just can't get used to it.

New features and it's smoother (and there's the shitty adobe cloud). I was using CS6 and changed to CC2015 and those are the differences I noticed, but if you're fine with cs3, just stay with it.

Every time I want to upgrade my copy of photoshop I go to CGPeers, type in Photoshop and sort by seeders. Everything on CGPeers is freeleech and there's no requirements for seeding (because drawfags don't seem to want the hassle of seeding).

Lots of people comment on CGPeers so I believe it's a bit safer than ThePirateBay, although I've never actually gotten a visible virus from TPB.

The current crack is produced by Painter and is called amt emulator.

I stopped using public trackers after ChingLiu decided to stop uploading.

Is there anything to registering except waiting for the 1st?
>>
>>153568498
>>153568575

There is a hierarchy of pirated files: https://opentrackers.org/where-pirated-content-comes-from/
All scene files will not have viruses, however the people who upload it to TPB may alter the contents infecting users. Be wary of new users, weird file formats, files of the wrong size compared to scene releases, weird seeder accounts and negative comments.

As a general rule of thumb, any music, printed media, video that does not have a retarded file extension is safe.

Kat.cr (kickasstorrents) before it was taken down had better quality control than TPB and as a result pretty much everything on that website could be freely downloaded with no risk of infection.

The scene files themselves should be fine, so it's pretty much a question of the best place to get them. In my opinion, getting them off kickasstorrents or what.cd was my favourite before both got taken down. What.cd has strict uploading rules and report happy users. Kickasstorrents had a huge number of commenters.

Nowadays I stick to CGPeers (high number of commenters and all artists, /ic/'s favourite tracker) or IPTorrents. IPTorrents is very shady because they try to sell invites but it's easy to get into, has a huge commenter base/probably more report happy people and has a higher likelihood of getting scene releases straight from the horse's mouth so to speak. Both CGpeers and IPTorrents can't have any of those malware bots/uploaders/inflated seeder counts getting in and users who upload malware and are found out would get banned so they are in my opinion safer.

You could also get PainteR's crack directly from his own twitter iirc.

Now if you can get some kind of keygen there is zero malware risk (because you can run the keygen inside a sandbox getting a license key with zero chance of getting infected) however more sophisticated cracks like the ones for Microsoft or Adobe have to run all the time so it's impossible to run these in a sandbox.

>>153568627
No iirc.
>>
>>153568627
When I signed up to CGPeers I simply filled out a form with the username I want, any email, my password and that was pretty much it.
>>
>>153568716
>You could also get PainteR's crack directly from his own twitter iirc.
And after you get the crack you can just download a trial off Adobe's own site and use that too if you are savvy enough to figure out the steps you need.
>>
>>153568420
I got my CC 2015 on PirateBay. Just type "photoshop" and sort by seeders, probably the version I downloaded is still with most seeders.

The problem goes away if you set the browser's language to Japanese. It's because fonts on Chrome and Android normally fallback in the order Chinese -> Japanese, while fonts on most Windows programs use the order Japanese -> Chinese. (Firefox generally borrows fallback fonts and input styling from the OS it's installed on.) Changing the language sets the browser to that language's font, so it'd go Japanese -> Chinese instead. It's wierd why Google would make this decision. My guess is someone higher up said, "Chinese characters should default to a Chinese font" or something like that, while Microsoft thought the opposite.

Speaking of fonts, does anyone use a font manager plugin for PS?
I know of FontHero and TypeDNA, but I haven't found a pirated version for either, and Suitcase Fusion didn't work for me.
So far I've managed to work with Nexus font, but that doesn't let me manage collections inside PS, and I think that it would speed up a lot my typesetting.

>>153579976
Not that anon, but I've used High-Logic Fontcreator 6.0 for years and it still works fine. Not that I do much with it, other than modifying Wild Words and other fonts that didn't have characters I needed. It's on version 10 now.

Somehow organizing fonts in PS would have been a big help, I'm curious about that too. It's a clusterfuck currently and consume a lot of time.
