It's a fairly big mobage (not as big as Puzzle and Dragons/Monster Strike obviously). Has lots of famous pixiv artists designing characters. They just pumped out three anime movies (third one just came out) and a TV show currently running. And it's probably completely generic and boring. The game itself has a mildly (only mildly) interesting story where one of the top bad guys is the protagonist from another timeline. Anyways, not recommending it or anything, I just play the game so it's funny..

I do hope they make a super cute Kemono Friends 3d exploration+adventure non-mobile game with their newfound popularity... ;_;

I tried watching the TV cut of it. The first ep pretty interesting because the good guys lose and the world is doomed within the opening five minutes, but there's about 70 characters shown and none of them introduced properly. I couldn't help question their tactics as well since I didn't know why they needed to carry the item that lets the baddie win into the fight, or why the better looking fighters had to stay outside while an average guy supposedly with no mana was their trump card. Then it introduced AssCred guy with the most hamfisted cliché of a throwaway bad guy. Nice animation.

Episode two was dedicated to explaining chain combo attack mechanics. I still didn't know or care who people were except that one guy's nose could be classified as a weapon. Gave up there really.

The first ep and OP gave me hope that they'd focus the plot on the MC being corrupted and using it. Thinking I might try the films if that is a thing.

There was an ocean area in the game, and the recent promo art still includes quite a few of them, so I guess we'll see the sea area and at least some of the dolphin/sea lion/whale girls.
