Russel was in the scene from the outset. There was a lot more preliminary conversational finangling about the mining rights because of that, to get Crusch to accept talking with him in the first place.
More fiddling with the phone where it feels like Crusch could catch him lying. Rem steps in to back him up a little.
Anastasia's presence feels much more relevant, and Crusch gets a little upset about Subaru's motives in bringing her there and the conversation almost breaks down.
More time spent on how Subaru got onto the idea of Crusch assembling a fighting force to attack the whale.
Crusch spends more time scrutinizing Subaru's proposal and is still clearly suspicious to some degree, even while accepting it.

The chapters for the conversation are incredibly long. Reading it with no foreknowledge of what happens after came with a decent handful of 'oh shit, is this going to work out?' moments.

There's only so much you can do with the episode limit they were given.
Arc 3 really suffered for it though. Aside from the bigger cuts everyone already knows about, there's lots of little scenes which didn't really matter but were still nice that got cut, or big scenes which got condensed. Lots of cool bits like Wilhelm's backstory, Otto's introduction, the negotiation, Nect fight, tatakae!, etc etc just didn't have the time they needed.

Hi guys its me “chest pain” anon from a few threads ago. So far I’ve been handling myself well. My chest wall pain has almost subsided so far but my doc advised me to be careful with emotional trauma. Taking Naproxen and going to therapy has helped me get back to normal.

So far I’ve tried not to think too much into Rem being into a coma or Tappei killing my hopes and dreams by forcing his shitty little half elf bitch waifu down our throats but there’s always the doubt in place. I'm on Chapter 40 of Summary anon's translation and Subaru seems to be miserable without Rem so I'm glad Tappei didnt continue writing him as an EMT fag (but Im still pissed off about Subaru doing his retarded memeflirting with Shitmilia). As I read through arc 4 I’m going to remain optimistic about Rem’s chances of winning because otherwise Im going to go back to being depressed over Rem and my chest pain will return.

On top of therapy, medication and therapy I’ve also decided to buy myself a Rem figure on amazon in order to keep me motivated during school. I almost failed a math course because I had to see the doc about my chest pain on exam day (and my asshole professor kept the exam grade in place) so I don’t want a repeat of my health deteriorating during an inconvenient time. Hopefully the Rem figure will make me feel positive and happy. Wish me luck Rembros. I’m not going to blogpost anymore since tripfagging isn’t my thing but Ill be lurking here for a while. Lets hope best girl wins.

I think Otto already handles the domestic affairs, and they've already got a competent maid.

Personally, I think there's likely going to be some rivalry between her and Emilia. She'll probably get along fairly well with Otto, might be fairly neutral with Garfiel, and have a more serious rivalry with Patrasche. She gets along fairly well with children and Beako, so that will go fairly well.

She'll probably want to go traveling with Subaru whenever he does, and probably serve as an all purpose general assistant and aid. Rem's got a surprisingly wide range of skills after all. Subaru probably won't be deliberately bringing her to the front lines, and I don't think he likes fighting much himself, but he'd probably be fine taking her wherever he went.

Besides, it gets her out of the house.

Apparently arc 2 wasn't even meant to be part of the story at first, and was only added because going straight from arc 1 to 3 would be too abrupt for Subaru and Emilia's fight. And Rem and Ram's characters were originally created for that purpose (they were originally going to be side characters)

Wilhelm was originally going to be just a coach driver until some guy posted on narou that "this old guy seems interesting" which prompted Tappei to think about his character more.

The white whale battle and "from zero" didn't exist in the original story.

Yes.

Yes he does and broke down because of it. But no he doesn't because he faced reality and has duties to fufill now.

Felt and Reinhard becoming some sort of opposing force to the Emilia faction isn't really surprising. It was at the very least hinted at in the main story.

Volakia (is Vollachia actually the official spelling? That's like 'Pack' levels of gross) in Arc 7 makes sense too. In arc 6 Julius brings up that he killed some dude from Volakia in the past who was planning some sort of coup or something (been some time since I read it so I'm fuzzy on the details which is a pretty random detail to bring up if it's not going to be relevant later.

Ferris as the final boss is a top quality meme.

There have been some hints, but no.

And there's *at least* one other character we meet who claim to come from Earth.
But they're an unreliable narrator with memory problems, so take that with a grain of salt.

And a significant historical character (the Sage Flugel) came from Earth.
But something, something, implied time travel.... so again, grain of salt.

He has some internal monologging to that effect, but it's not like he has any idea (or even leads) as to how.
And his main coping mechanism is burying shit and trying not to think about it.
Arc 4 draws attention to the fact that he's been deliberately avoiding thoughts about his family missing him.

It's the start of a much bigger story, so you should go in knowing a lot of questions won't be answered yet and a lot of characters won't be in focus for majority of the show. Many questions are answered in the source however.
