I really liked her when reading SBR, I always loved when she showed up.
Tubular Bells for example is one arc that particularly captivated me on her, and Lucy too.
I was excited to see what was her story and what was going to happen to her, knowing that she was working for the Vatican and all.
She was an interesting character and an awesome force in the narrative, similar to Diego.
But her death is one of the few things Araki has fucked up BIG time in all of Jojo. Her character arc went nowhere, her interactions with Johnny went nowhere, and the cherry on the cake, the Vatican subplot went absolutely nowhere. All of this simply doesn't allow me to like her as much as I would, had she gotten a decent conclusion.

Kira's theme is made specifically for the scenes in the anime, several of them appear to have been paced with the theme in mind. And it also works well because it's a classic horror theme, it's very similar to the Psycho theme. And it works because of who Kira is as a character. It's specific, tailor made to who Kira is and how his scenes unfold.
You remove both of these elements and the song just loses it's soul and purpose.

Probably. SBR has a lot of flaws but the good parts are REALLY good, with the two leads and their relationship being the strongest aspect of the Part. Gyro is almost instantly likeable and gets better as it goes along. You'll love him no doubt, but whether he overtakes Polnareff is down to personal taste. I'd say from an objective standpoint he's a better executed and more complicated character by far but that has little to do with personal taste most of the time. I like both a lot though.

There were a lot of people here who claimed it was perfect for a while but it's not, obviously. It's a good Part but it drops the ball in a lot of things but excels in others. I'd rank it overall on par with 5 and 6, which I also consider the pinnacle of the series. 8 is even better right now but I'm waiting for it to finish. It's really good but whether it's the best or not is up to preference. There's no consensus though there was a very vocal group of posters here who've quieted down recently that would hype up SBR as the best thing man ever put out. If you liked everything else you'll like SBR, just expect more of the same but it switched to seinen part way through so Araki can deal with some heavier themes.
