What about an Isekai story where the main character is an amateur magician, is summoned somehow to another world. mistaken for the chosen one because of his talents which he uses to earn money and fame? Meanwhile the real Chosen One shows up, is pissed they aren't getting the fame and decides to release a dragon to kill him and the entire city.

In case of the latter the best option would be if he doesn't remember his previous life unless something drastic happens that makes him remember everything from his previous life.

I even did once something like this for Write an Anime Plot.

There's this one Korean isekai where becoming the strongest being in your world lets you isekai into a new world where "your strongest" is basically the minimum level.

There's a variety of people that get to that world, and are mainly split up into three categories of people with Systems, peak martial artists, and religious people or something.

People with Systems are generally the weakest and shittiest of the three because they were cruising by in their previous world on it, and it just doesn't cut it in the new world.
