I usually detest all this "X is worst girl" bullshit, because most of the time all the major characters, even if you wouldn't like them as a person, are at least interesting enough characters that play their role in the story well enough. And in most of the cases where they're not, it's usually not just one of them, and arguing over which is the worst is generally pointless bickering.

But here... Darkness is, as you say, a one-joke character. She'd have been perfectly fine as a one-off who joins the party and they kick her out at the end of the episode. Or a background character who pops up from time to time. But as a member of the main cast? Crap.
