Is it just me, or is this season kind of shit? Normally there's at least a few contenders for AotS, but this time, the only one that comes to mind is a s2 whose only real strength is the voice acting.
Well, it's not made by me every season. Normally I make a "which anime is AotS" thread when we're about this deep into the season. Although for winter seasons, perhaps this is more normal.
I actually liked the first episode. The part of Aqua trying to get him out of jail and the other 2 running from an explosion with masks on cracked me the fuck up
2nd eps? meh Maybe if the OVA with titty slapping wasnt out before it. Basically just a redo of that eps. Some feels though
I prefer REAL yuri. Everything after Yuruyuri is just "fun things are fun but with 13 yr old lesbos!"
You are the reason anime was a mistake
hurrr i like purdy preteen lesbos durrr
I didn't watch season 1, but I've been meaning too. I think we live in an age of mental retardation and over stimulation and a show with no bright colors or cute lolis isn't worth their time
>Best season in years
>HURF DURF WHY IS EVERYTHING SHIT
This is why you can't have nice things.
Well, the ones I've seen so far are
>Youjo Senki - a fairly interesting series that is based on an ongoing series that isn't going to have an actual end
>Konsuba 2 - second season to a fantasy based comedy that is based on an ongoing series that isn't going to have an actual end
>Gabriel Dropout - a fantasy based comedy that is based on an ongoing series that isn't going to have an actual end
>Maid Dragon - a fantasy based comedy that is based on an ongoing series that isn't going to have an actual end
>Little Witch Academia - a fantasy based comedy NOT based on an ongoing series that will likely go into usual Trigger insanity soon enough
Seriously, I hate how basically none of the series this season will have satisfying endings.
Sad but true.
I myself waited until the second season started airing to watch the first one, and it's really good but it requires from the viewer to sit down and pay attention while watching. It's easier to just watch an anime with cute retarded girls, and there are plenty of those each season.
>LWA is not going insane.
>Starts with a scavenger hunt
>ends with A GIANT MAGIC DRAGON GETTING NUKED
>starts with parade shenanigans
>ends with a group fight against a giant
They fucking fought a giant chicken in the first episode.
This show is clearly going to go insane as it nears it's end.
Not sure if they'll get a main villain/plot anytime soon, but could see it getting to that point if only for the last few episodes.
>that counts as insane
Having a fight with a monster in a fantasy setting isn't "insane". It's fucking MLP-tier plot complexity. Have you not watched any other trigger anime, or any other anime in general?
I mean, they're clearly not "Ultimate Lifeform from Sonic Adventure 2" levels of crazy, but for OVAs, it was up there, especially the dragon as a "this could end the school" kind of threat.
I'm saying that now that they have 25 FUCKING EPISODES, there's no way they're just gonna do 25 episodes of "lesson of the week".
At some point, even if just the last 2-3 episodes, there's gonna be a much larger, crazier threat leading into the classic SASUGA TRIGGER ending.
We probably won't get any blood in this series, but they've already shown they're not afraid to hurt these cute little witches.
Why aren't you watching AOTY?
>there's no way they're just gonna do 25 episodes of "lesson of the week".
>this concept is not interesting enough to stretch this long, so they won't
You didn't watch Ninja Slayers, did you?
>SoL about a dude with an inspections officer job in a socialist state
It's not pretentious but not really something guaranteed to catch interest, something that could work just as well as a live action
At least I'm pretty confident I know what the absolute worst show of the season is this time. Although I'm not going to stop watching it.
>26 12-13 minute episodes
>Literally still took 3 episodes involving the final fight
Little Witch Academia is both twice as long, an original series that doesn't have to follow any pre-existing material, and is clearly getting Trigger's all.
How the fuck do you not think they're going to have some kind of plot even for the last few episodes, and that they won't have an absolutely explosive, insane ending?
Kind of. Winter is rarely a great season since it has so few shows.
It's a pretty good season for /u/ with Doga Kobo and KyoAni on deck. Those shows both do a good job at what they do, but they won't impress anyone who isn't broken enough to enjoy CGDCT.
It's still early, but Little Witch Academia doesn't feel like it's going to be as ambitious as TRIGGER's other great works. It's still a great show, and still the lead contender for AOTS.
KonoSuba has upset some people but I think most fans are still enjoying it.
There's not a lot left to sort through. ACCA, Rakugo, and Youjo Senki are all OK.
There's more going on this season than last.
Last season had hibike season 2 and izetta I guess. Then a bunch of other niche shit that was mostly fujo-shit.
This season we have at least two quality cute girls shows, a good comedy, a couple drama shows, and a rom com. The quality of show is way higher than last season. Nothing that'll stand out after spring or summer but way better than the shit they've been serving us.
I mean, I only picked up LWA and Youjo Senki this season and I'm enjoying them both so I can't complain.
ACCA, Rakugo, Onihei,
Yami Shibai S4, & Nyanko Daysare the BEASTS.
>Is it just me, or is this season kind of shit?
It's only you. Since you're always watching Moshit from time to time such as Maid Dragon, Gabriel, & Urara.
>You listed crap that doesnt need to be anime or that has bad writing.
I want to like ACCA, but the writing is crazy and not in a good sense of the word. Exposition is fucking everywhere and almost everything so far has "happened" through a conversation. It just doesn't have a good storytelling.
Rakugo which is literally a show about talking has unironically had more action so far.
I'm giving it a chance, though, because the concept itself is interesting.
>Rakugo which is literally a show about talking has unironically had more action so far.
You must be joking, Rakugo is a show about performances and drama the pacing is not slow at all, ACCA in the other hand is mostly just SoL.
OP is straight honest man who makes legitimate posts and
aww shit I broke it.
>a s2 whose only real strength is the voice acting.
But Rakugo's strengths are clearly in the writing and direction as well as the voice acting.
Literally every episode is great, I can't believe it's kept up this level of quality.
I know the whole "my wife's son" thing has done irreparable damage but it is not so bad to fall in love with someone with a kid, even if they are just pregnant. What makes you a cuck is letting your wife cheat on you. I realise this is too fine a line for most memeshitters but please try
Every season, threads that complain about the season being shit should be banned automatically.
I haven't seen a season of this shows this bland and generic in years.
It's literally every other season, but the one or two shows that aren't trash are just...missing.
Good excuse to crack into the backlog, I suppose.
This. I remember only Kiznaiver and Luluco having good ends from the last year.
You make it sounds like filler is something bad. It's a manga where character interaction is the focus and without a real plot. There's absolutely nothing wrong with original content.
