It's pretty stupid but it's very enjoyable, the gore is gorgeous desu.

I honestly wish it was that. At least it would have stuck to it's own concept and kept with it.

It started solid, and had a good story. The first few chapters were great. I enjoyed the two person party of Goblin Slayer and Priest Girl. The Priest Girl slowly learning more about how the real world works, and Goblin Slayer slowly turning more human.
Honestly, the whole party reveal and the demon lord adventure just turned it into generic adventure with a bit of an edgier feel.

Some adventurers come from such villages. Magic users should be an exception. With most only having 3 or 4 spellcasts per day, killing a couple dozen goblins is a bad idea without a good group. And in a good group, that tiny village's reward is split too many ways to generate a good pay.

If the goal was to be realistic and practical then at max he'd wear a combo of chainmail sweater/skirt with leather overclothes/boots/gloves and primarily use a halberd or other polearm with a longsword, kiteshield, and dagger as sidearms.
