Also, and this is a moot point, but I've said it before in these threads that it's strange to me that Taki didn't assume there was a chance Reina already knew about it. Her having already heard about it through her parents is more plausible than her having only recently heard about it through Kumiko. To the other students Taki is just a teacher and they would discuss him in that context until they happened upon an interesting fact outside of that, meanwhile to Reina and her parents he's an acquaintance for whom the full breadth of his life is likely a topic open for discussion.

Making a point to tell Reina something she either did or didn't already know and then telling her in no uncertain terms to keep it to herself is a lot safer than just assuming she would never find out about it and assuming she wouldn't tell anyone.
