In the manga, they figure out that Black is some kind of god due to him coming from another timeline, which Whis assumes could only be done with the Time Ring. That's what leads to them going after Kibito and then Zamasu himself. So, they (Toyotaro) didn't forget the Time Ring, Black just isn't using it anymore for whatever reason.

Future Zamasu is also explicitly shown with the Time Ring in the newest chapter.

To be honest, I only watch Dragon Ball for the power levels. Everything else that Toriyama is famous for: the transformations, techniques, character designs, and moves, have been depicted better by other manga artists before and after him. It's not really interesting and I just desire to accurately calculate the threat assessment of all the characters of Dragon Ball presented in a precise numerical value, like I used to do when I was a kid watching Dragon Ball.

I've been getting excited over the fact that Freeza's VA, Ryusei Nakao, just revealed Golden Frieza's power level: 100,000,000,000,000,000,000. Now I can extrapolate this power level and use it as a benchmark to accurately determine the rest of the power levels of the characters. For example, Cui (power level 18,000) is 5.5555556e+15 times weaker than Golden Frieza.

One of the few problems I have with Super is that there's no real sense of danger, and there never will be unless they retcon EoZ, or timeskip past it. In DB/Z/GT you always knew that Goku and crew were going to win, but you never really knew how, or if anyone was going to die. In Super you don't have that, because you know how it's going to end.

That being said, I loves the Black/Zamasu arc, and I'm really looking forward to the Universal Survival arc.

17 and 18 are pretty great. Not golden Freeza was one of the best things the universe had to offer by far and they outclass him. Jaco, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Trunks and Goten are definitely NOT as strong as Freeza. Just look at them. And while Trunks and Goten are probably stronger than Krillin and Tenshinhan in power level, they are dumb kids.

To become a true master warrior they have to become true fighters.
That out there in the universe are beings that could have snatched a knot in frieza's ass in a fist fight and they outright LACK the pure firepower that frieza takes for granted.

I mean think about it. The saiyans normally don't have the power and durability of freiza.
Even frieza with less ki then two farmers is still durable enough to tank a world exploding.
Goku needs to harness his ki and use it in such a way to make him invulnerable enough to tank his hits and use techniques to make his excess ki potent enough to do damage to him.
He even has a technique that allows him to SENSE how much ki someone has.
And Hiits mere existence and skills that are based on pure technique and self control makes most of the power battles mean shit.
Well, that was until the latest clusterfuck of an ep that made fuck all sense on multiple levels.
