Losing to Bakugou shouldn't bother her to the degree it did if she just wants to be a mole for money.

If your assertion is that she's a mole for money - well by all counts she's doing a great job. She's passing all the tests, doing well but not enough to stick out to the degree Todoroki or Bakagou do - she should be super pumped at the end of the Provisional Tests

But she's not. This picture is from her clash with Toga, but the words get brought up again, and again. Ochako wants to be like Deku, but wanting to be like Deku holds her back.

This is not an inference on my part. Chapter 67 shows this outright. More on Chapter 67 when I get all the right translations.

So, in the end... there's something more going on than just money, traitor or no traitor.

Look at that scene. Before I suspected Uraraka I just couldn't understand why her reaction was so extreme. The look in her eyes was odd even before Himiko started going into detail what she meant when she talked about love. So in another words, it was the very idea that of love that didn't sit right with Uraraka.

The whole conversation starts with:

"You're the same as me" (foreshadowing much?)

and then she talks about love. A crazy villain was talking about love and was able to find it, but Uraraka even though she outwardly was a normal student, must have felt dirty on the inside I guess?

So even though I like this character, as I draw him I need to keep reminding myself that “this is important!”. On the opposite end, Bakugou is somebody that I can relax to draw. I really like Otomo Katsuhiro sensei’s, Akira, and within this series there is a character called Tetsuo who, even though he’s a kid, is really strong. And he uses his power like a kid too. I really like that, so I decided to create a character like that in My Hero Academia, which is why mentally speaking, Bakugou is still like a child, though he has a really strong power. His way of fighting is also jumping and flying around, and when he actually fights he hollers and shouts. I’m really happy when I draw characters like that. However Bakugou’s words are all really rude, which might make readers feel unpleasant, though personally I like him.

Well imagine hundreds of fujoshi that don't even read the manga, voting for a character they don't care about because other Fujoshi had told them to. They would do this because next time around it would be a poll for some other anime or manga that they liked and then the boku no hero fans would fall in line and vote for those characters even if they didn't even know them. This way each poll would have massive influxes of new voters that voted as one.
