First of all, time reset is already a generic MC power.
I had high expectation to the show because it didn't have the fantasy fighting shit. Time reset stories are usually good and easily be AOTS from my experience, but only if there is a capable MC. Look at steins;gate and erased. The MCs may be confused at their fist time reset but they can calm soon and start to formulate strategy to facilitate the plot. Comparing to them, subaru is just a crying baby with low iq and low eq, and leads the audience to forced drama.
Subaru is not "less than perfect". He is completely into the shit-tier MC.

My harem anime would start with the female lead walking in on the main love interest. He is naked and takes great offense, beating her for her trespass. She is then forced to fight him in a duel. The rest of the story involves the many love interests fighting eachother and losing to the protagonist and there's a beach episode and of course a public bath episode where she sneaks over to the male side to spy on them and gets beaten for it.

I never understand why shows like RE:Zero are popular, they're pretty much naruto clones and there are like almost a thousand naruto episodes.

I'm not saying Naruto is good, but why would someone decide to watch Re:Zero over Naruto? At least Naruto's fight scenes can be cool.

The show goes out its way to say he was a lonely faggot in the real world and how pathetic he was, i just assumed he was tried being s dumb hero when he got bis chance and repeatedly killed himself for the first heroine he sees attempting to save her. All this forshadowing in the anime was just that emilia had some weird connection with satella, not he was brainwashed to like emilia.

Well yeah, this is a monkey's paw type of series. Subaru wanted to he a hero of an isekai story with his silver-haired heroine. He got what he wanted but in a way he never expected or liked to be be like.

Everything in the WN goes into the Ln without many changes. There are a few loops merged here and there but nothing has deviated as of yet and we are already 4 arcs in.

It takes one aspect of Naruto character seriously that the other clones don't which is his try hard but pathetic persona.
No one watched this show for fight scenes if anything it could do with less of them, the show didn't take off until around episode 6 to 8.

There are a lot of differences but the important ones other than the fact that one is a shonen drama and the other is a drama thriller are the naunce to the arguments throughout their series.
Re:Zero focuses heavily on the inner conflict compared to Naruto, Subaru isn't just challenged by his enemies but by allies and most importantly himself.
In Naruto the arguments are a lot more straightforward compared to Re:Zero's which never cause fights even if they take place in the middle of one, characters come to conclusions after each undergoes some compromise while in Naruto might is right with only the winner ideology being upheld.

Also while Naruto is encouraged by his friends to keep chasing his dreams the deciding factor of why he makes it that far is because of innate talent.
Subaru on the other hand has no latent powers and relies solely on teamwork and his friends for his wins. It's sort of like Naruto with a little world trigger, time travel and waifu's thrown in.
