As you see in my ranking, it's my second favorite. Probably had the most intense fight so far (Mi-chan vs Ripple), although I liked SW vs DC more in the arc. I tend to really like gray characters, so Deluge appeals to me a lot, same with Pfle, and besides the Shufflin trigger I think she played it about as well as she could have. Also Ripple vs Mi-chan was probably the best 1 on 1 in the series, shit was intense as fuck and Puk brewing some sinister bullshit in the background makes me hype. Also as for endgame, I've seen some Queens spoilers and managed to get the gist of it, I'm super hyped if they are true, Queens is gonna be the wildest ride yet

Seems like Pythie had grown attached to Ripple even more during the time they spent together. Pythie mentions that Ripple can't grow under her training so she is let loose right after she kills Premium Sachiko. As for why SW can't hear Ripple's thoughts clearly, I would guess that since she knows SW's power well she can hide things for a short period of time.

Fuck, I knew everything was going to good there at the end, but Ripple being the one who killed Sachiko made everything even worse. Fuck Pythie. All in all though, it's probably my second favorite Arc, almost all the new character were great, and Ripple vs. Mi-chan and Snow White vs. Dark Cutie are easily some of the best fights in the whole series. Can't wait for Queens.

Other than Deluge I don't think my opinion particularly improve on any survivors, although it was great to actually see Snow White in a fight where she had planned everything out. Also I really liked SG's scenes with Armor Arlie, and I think we got to see a bit of a side of her we haven't seen before. The only newcomers I didn't particularly care for were Glassianne, Mi-chan, and Patricia. Especially Patricia because she literally only existed to show that Deluge has gone over the edge.

I have read all Limited now, I'm confused.

I wasn't a fan of how many characters felt completely pointless other than fodder for Shufflins. It had some good characters and Marika's one of my favorites in the whole series, but as the whole it's probably my least favorite arc besides Unmarked.

Not really. If SW was only able to gank enemies then she would have died years ago. Her fight against Dark Cutie shows that, since it was pretty straightforward and she was able to hold her off. SW is very skilled and experienced in combat. Being able to read your opponent's mind gives you a huge advantage when fighting them after all since you can easily dodge their attacks or exploit their openings. And SW is able to stay calm and think fast in combat, allowing her to exploit her environment and her opponent's weaknesses even when she doesn't have much in the way of prep time or specialized equipment.

Aces really feels like it's bridging a trilogy. Too many things set up for the future without much payoff. I enjoyed it, but not nearly as much as Jokers.
Jokers was an interesting departure from the usual setup by having one main enemy that everyone has to work against. Kind of like everyone vs Pukin dragged out for three fourths of a novel. A lot of characters had seemingly pointless deaths, but it really made the whole thing feel more desperate. Seeing Snow White come back and how much she had changed was great. Aces didn't have her complete lack of self-preservation, and she didn't seem as personally affected like she was in Jokers besides when Ripple killed Sachiko right at the end.

None of the groups in Aces were as close as the Pure Elements either. They felt like a family and probably the best part of Aces has been Deluge's downfall. I'm also really not a fan of mind control in fiction and it's starting to look like that's a key plot point in Aces and Queens. Another thing it lacked was a great heroic sacrifice, like with Wedin or Cherry or even Nokko-chan. With the emphasis on an ideal magical girl, those moments have come to define the series for me.
