>Critical moment in story
>MC looks at hand
>Clenches fist

Why is this such a common theme in anime?
>>
>>151364234
Because it's something that people actually do.

You don't clench your fists when feeling impotence/anger/etc?
>>
its a pretty clear symbol to indicate resolve. Do you really not know that?
>>
>>151364312
Wrong.
>>
>>151364234
If there's one thing I've learned from anime, it's that the Japanese love their own shitty, overused cliches.
>>
>>151364234
Represents the taking of some action or thing into your own hand, such as your life, the lives of others, the future, etc.

Symbolism 101, this is babby tier
>>

This. Simply put, it's Something That Happens, and if it doesn't Happen, the Japanese viewer will feel uncomfortable. Their love for their tropes and obsession with sticking to the perfectly formulaic and familiar borders on autism, but on a national level.
>>
>>151365217
But it's not wrong.

Why when something heartwarming happens do they cut to another character smiling?
I know it's heartwarming okay I don't need to see someone else smiling to know that I am also supposed to feel happy.
When I see this in a program I inevitably give it no better than a 6/10 on my blog.
>>
>>151364234
It's probably from a movie from the 50s or something
>>
More proof that no one on this board has ever watched anything other than anime. Maybe go and watch some live action movies and you wouldn't assume that this is a Japan/anime only thing you faggots.

I actually noticed something else

japanese just redo what they found cool, each one putting it's own spin on it, while westerners have a obsession with ''100% new and unheard of''

because of that, to us, it looks like they are a bunch of copy cats, when it's us who can't find what we like and settle for it while they do what they like

because of this shit, modern art is the way it is in the west, because of the obsessed mentality with 100% new and unique, even if is not better or even shit. In this manner we also have snowflakes.

I am glad atleast the western movies don't follow this mentality, but each one try to improve on the old.

>I am glad atleast the western movies don't follow this mentality,
Yes, they do.
Or how else do you explain the iron on iron scratching sound whenever a blade is drawn?
>>
>>151371387
that's what I am talking about, they don't follow the "100% new and unique" mentality, but mix stuff they find cool
>>
>>151370379
I always get a chuckle when anons assume that something originated in anime and invent an explanation for it.
Why are Japanese DVDs so expensive?
>otaku
Why are so many students in clubs?
>lazy writing
Why do anime characters strike poses and contort their faces in dramatic moments?
>autism
>>
>>151371792
>but mix stuff they find cool
So do japs.

Resolve. It's not even just a Jap thing.
>>
>thing is happening
>character says that thing is happening
Why do they always do this? Are japs all blind?
