I think once this show is over it'll be one of the first post-show depressions I've had in a long time.

Even despite the messy second season and ending which I expect to be a truly vague non-ending (no confirmation of anything between Kumiko/Shuichi, no signs whether Reina begins to get over Taki after the emotional release of confessing or not, the only solid event is the third years leaving), I'm going to really miss these characters, they have a ton of depth compared to the walking archetypes and cliched scenarios of most shows.

Do you watch the show since S1? They were pretty bad, no history other than that time they also came close; every year was a mess of people just having fun and not taking practice seriously.

At the start of the show both Kumiko and Midori (who have experience playing at middle school) realize they are bad, "hopeless".

Turning a band like this in less than a year and winning third place in the country is a big accomplishment.

I don't get why Asuka calls it a failure at all either, considering the show has been telling us since the start how they turned around.
