What did /a/ think of Bokurano? I liked it when I watched it since it was a real emotional gut punch and it was interesting exploration of the human psyche when confronted with an unavoidable demise.
I've heard people say the manga is better but it felt a bit unnecessarily cruel compared to what I watched in the anime, even if it made a bit more sense internally and thematically.
Is it safe to read the manga if I have depression?

Maybe not, depending on whether or not you get off on suffering.

It's a bittersweet ending at its best, but way more bitter overall than the anime ending. None of the main characters get a happy ending in the manga.

Anime is pretty bad and misses the best moments of the manga.
Overall a nice manga but not a masterpiece. 8.5/10
I liked the anime, especially in the beginning. When it became all military stuff it got a little bit less interesting, but overall it was a memorable experience.

The shift from children to adults was very unfortunate but I still liked it enough.

The manga is so much better.
Fuck the director for changing stuff just because he didn't like it.
I like Narutaru better though.

>I like Narutaru better though
I liked Narutaru as well but I don't know if I'd say it was better than Bokurano. Parts of Narutaru just felt like they were done for shock value and I didn't really understand why some things happenede.g. when that one trap-looking guy gets murdered and his corpse arranged in one of the most brutal ways possible.I really should give Narutaru another read to see if it makes any more sense on a re-read.

Narutaru was pretty meh and it felt it was just edgy for the sake of being edgy, Bokurano at least had a nice message
did not capture the same fell in manga but it does have pretty nice ost. i link the OP song to my teammates who plays like shit.
The anime is utter garbage and completely misses the point of the manga, the only good parts are the lolisex scene and the music
Manga is good but I was a bit let down having known that part of the tragedy was likely inspired by the author's fetish for abused pregnant little girls.
