It wouldn't be the first or last time religious imagery had been used in JoJo, Araki seems surprisingly well-versed in biblical lore (although I'm not sure if he was indeed raised a catholic and he doesn't seem like a religious person to me).

If we want to make a straight-up comparison, think of DIO and Pucci's relationship as Jesus and Peter's relationship. A mutual friendship between a man and a godlike messiah figure, where the man looks up to the messiah, but he is not a servant, but a friend who walks on the same ground. Except Peter denied Jesus, which is something Pucci didn't with DIO.

There are several other biblical allusions in their relationship ("you are the King of Kings") so to me this just seems like another one.

No Davids been pretty lousy at handling impact. Scenes that should slap the viewer in the face come off as pretty lax due to the direction. Josuke hearing Kiras name for example. A slow pan, generic tension music, barely any sound effects or manga SFX. Just compare the backgrounds. In the manga the street falls away, leaving just Josuke and his aura of sheer MAD.

In the anime hes just standing there, the colors are kinda muted, it doesn't have the same weight. A harsh SLAM to Josukes reaction with the background replaced with a stylized explosioney pattern. Could have done wonders.

Why do people think Jobin's the main villain? It's obviously Kaato. Jobin's all sweaty and nervous but Kaato's just chillin in a hammock

-Josuke's often strapped for cash while Kira gets by from his jobs and what was left of his inheritance
-Josuke's super flashy with his hair and all the accessories he wants to buy while Kira dresses well to appear innocuous
-Josuke's powers mend while Kira's destroys; both of their Stands can be insanely precise and are used in manners that go beyond their apparent limitations
-Josuke accumulates a vast entourage of friends whereas apart from his dead father and bestial plant pet, Kira stands alone
-even their dads are foils to one another since they both have abilities related to spirit photography. Joseph was something of an absentee deadbeat, but is filled with remorse and wishes to be a good man his son can look up to. Yoshihiro was there for Kira, was married properly, but spoils his son rotten, enabling his evil due to warped parental instincts

These were strong thematic connections made and apparent in spite of their distance.

Which leads to my second point. As mentioned, the two don't interact much, but after he appears in the story proper, Kira doesn't really vanish and has his own story thread that builds on his character and has fealty to the overarching narrative of the second half: Heroes trying to catch him and him trying not to get caught.

There's also the fact they're fighting for the same thing, albeit in different ways. Josuke wants to protect Morioh after inheriting the task from his grandfather who was a cop for decades, whereas Kira wants to protect his quiet life of preying on Morioh and doesn't want anyone to interfere with it. They both have a deep love for their town, except Kira's love is more twisted. This is demonstrated through the openings and some of the episode imagery where there's a constant back-and-forth for the Golden Heart of Morioh.

I'm pretty sure having Killer Queen as your stand would make you turn to murder sooner or later just with how simple and easy it is with zero risk of getting caught. Harvest and Heaven's Door definitely have the most utility though. Crazy Diamond would be pretty great, too. Although personally I'd prefer GE so I could heal my own wounds as well. Repairing objects is fine, but you never know when fate will decide to cripple or mortally wound your ass so it's useful to have a contingency.
