I disregard all the things I watched in high school etc. I watched Toonami in the early 2000s but never got into anime as such from that.

I really got into anime during my college years in 2007-08. I watched Wing because I remembered it from childhood, then watched Seed and Seed Destiny because they were similar to Wing, then watched 00 (with Mendoi-Conclave's subs!) because it was currently airing.

After watching all of that, I went back to watch older shows. The first older shows I watched were Eva, Death Note, and Geass.

I guess I was 18-19 when all that was going down.
