There's no fucking way that with the way this show was designed it could satisfy everyone by the end. It's brought people on board for literally all kinds of reasons throughout by doing different types of episodes and genres. Some people liked Mad Max, others for the spooky episode, and others due to the alzheimer's episode. And then of course you have the yuri fanbase.

To say nothing of my own opinion towards it or even the episode's quality, there should have been no doubt that once FliFla started to tip its hand that it would tear apart some portions of the fanbase.

I enjoy this show, with some glaring issues with it however. Ever since episode 1, I've always been suspicious of this show's execution. It's when it often relies on immediate power-ups like in episode 1 that, while makes sense overall, feels very crude and like a cheap shortcut to progress the plot. Episode 2 did that too. Fast forward to the latest episode, it's already clear that this show is yet another example of a wasted potential of original anime, because of compromising (not going all the way in sheer inventiveness) and general lack of talent/experience.

The only reason why people think this show is deeper and more poignant than what it really is, is because the background art is made by Studio Pablo. Everything else either lacked polish or cliched. I gave it the benefit of the doubt when it seemingly tried to make fun of the collective consciousness, by bringing those cliched tropes to exaggeration, but more and more I think it's just because they couldn't come up with something original themselves. It's apparent when the tiny bits lacked details. They only namedrop Uexkull but showed it in detail, either explicitly or through visual easter eggs (like, if you read the infos on their monitor, etc.). That's when I know the show is not really well-thought out as people make it out to be. Sure, it's more than your average generic LN shit, but certainly not - enough -.

I'm one of the people who is really antsy about the conclusion. I may be "shitposting" but I think that most of the accusations from both sides are genuine. Probably more genuine than most of the shit that gets posted on this site.

A weird thing I've noticed, is that my experience of the first few episodes changes DRAMATICALLY on repeat viewings. I can't explain what it is-- it's not just knowledge of what's going to happen in the plot, but it's also a greater understanding of who the chatacters actually are, at least in the creators' minds. It's so different-- I'd actually say I enjoy it more than I did originally.

Don't be so sure you're still going to hate this episode after you have all the context, is all I'm saying.

I'm fairly certain this type of show is much more enjoyable when marathoned rather than watching on a weekly basis, where there's a ton of breathing room and time to speculate about plot twists.
