Assuming you're willing to give the series a shot and are actually asking a legitimate question,

Think of the series as being more like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, it might make some more sense.

Think of each Arc as both individual self-contained story, but also part of a larger narrative. The characters in the Arc have their own character arcs and yes, they often die, but each Arc has its own feel to it, and feel like their own thing, which I personally enjoy. I mean, I'd never thought I'd read a Crime Thriller starring Magical Girls in Arc 3.

But each Arc also builds up the story threads, and survivors still play a major role, with some really good character development for those survivors in particular.

I'm probably also biased because I enjoy series with multiple protagonists and POVs too.

If you think you enjoy these things, and you're willing to give the series a shot, try it out. Check out the LNs. If it's not your cup of tea, that's fine too. Accept the fact that no one is safe though.

I haven't been surfing /a/ during this season very much, but I have a few questions regarding this series right now. Seems like people know spoilers so I assume I could get some possible answers.

I recall the start of the series being either a look-ahead or a flashback to a scene with Cranberry. I've seen anime do a "flash forward to what the end of the anime" and it's often anime original, and often shit. Which is it, and is it actually part of the story and not anime original?

How many novels is this adapting out of the present 9 they have? Is it going in proper order?

The anime is adapting only arc 1 (which is only one volume long). It's pretty faithful and expands on things the LN either left out or otherwise was shown in the side chapters, but it has a couple (usually minor) changes here and there like how some characters die. There's currently six arcs right now, with each arc shifting to a new cast of characters with some of the survivors of the last arc returning or affecting the plot of the last arc. As other anons have said, the best way to describe the series as a whole is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure with magical girls, but instead of the Joestar bloodline as the central focus, it's the Land of Magic and the magical girls it creates.

That scene of SW walking in the rain and the short monologue was great. I am glad that SG took this step, I've been disappointed in her lately. Still worried that it might be a pfle plan and Pythie is still a cunt nothing new.

It felt refreshing to see a solution of running away. It's fit with SW's personality and methods and no ass pull. SW is that calm character who everyone relied on a horror/survival movie. It felt really great that her main strength is being calm and logical plans. I think I am fully invested in seeing where she goes from now.

But then a demon appear and killed all the participant except one. Not only Cranberry manage to survive, she even beat the said demon. Cranberry become adrenaline junky and Fav, who administer the test feel excited for the first of his electronic life. Then she asked the survivor, Cranberry if she want to replicate this incident again. Thus, the psychopathic duo we love to hate was born

Names are a little murky for now but it would seem the book had ~16~ to start but they died before the prologue.
