So the fact that we see Salt (?) as a kid and Mimi this episode. I'm leaning towards the theory that salt and Mimi were the original pair to travel to PI when they were younger. I don't think Papika was actually there for the memory she experienced nor do I think Mimi was actually her partner. Perhaps she is an amorphous child and is getting her memories contaminated by Salt's and so her memories of Mimi are his.
