I was kind of hoping that it was going to stay closer to the first bits of the series, with the Regalia Gear of the week and the PM+advisors getting more screen time. The crazy shit near the end was cool, but I felt that it got dragged out. I did feel bad for Johan in the end though. He just wanted everyone to be tang so he could have friends.

They didn't state that they'll never put them in. Super Robot Wars has some requirements for each Anime to appear in the crossover line-ups, and they're either market, legal, or storybase reasons (hence the Sunrise Royals, Lovecraftian Mecha, and Loli fuel cross that I mentioned); Also Demonbane and Linebarrel got in because of Anime Adaptation, but MuvLuv may not because of the complexity of the entire narrative (you have to play MuvLuv Extra to have the full experience of MuvLuv Alternative).

Still, I liked the characters, the story was alright if unambitious (and I suspect the story flows better watching it in one go), and everything looked nice. Fantastic OP/ED.
