Long story short I like it for two reasons: the first is how animistic it is and for its message about everything having its place in the world and nothing being unnatural, the second is for how quaint, comfy and pretty it manages to be. It's the the Japanese equivalent to Wind in the Willows or Don Camilla in terms of quaint and comfy, to my mind anyway, since I associate those things with them.

I could make longposts about it, but it would just bore people are reveal that I'm an autist.

Because the focus of the scene is the scenery. It's a long shot so it doesn't need crazy details.

If you can't get into philosophical thing in this series, then there's no point in watching it.
Mushishi is basically deal with human problems, mushi is something to tempt whether human can accept reality or not, like paradox and nihilism for instances.
Something like that, I don't really know how should I put it.

i fucking loved the adaptation of the girl in the well. The imagery of the moon being the sunlight shining into the well and the scenery transition during the moment of the girl calling back to her family. My favorite episode.
