I knew of the manga but hadn't read it yet. Couldn't get into the anime, tried the manga with the same result.

The anime adaptation is kind of parody of Another.
The manga adaptation on the other hand is quite great in my opinion and Kiyohara Hiro's artwork is always beautiful to see.
