LMS is funny as hell and it has it's charm, but the series was never about him suffering and going through trials as a serious theme, but more of a comedy point like how no matter how hard Tanya in Youjo Senki works she just gets more work pushed on her as a result in order to maintain a facade.

LMS's charm is in how petty a man Weed is, and through that sheer pettiness that is so exaggerated (as is all praise and comparisons seriously it's wuxia xianxia cum with the force of a thousand suns exaggerated) that you can't help but laugh at how ridiculous it's hammed up.
