JLPT was almost a decade ago, anon
I've been in kyoto on a work visa for the past five years. After renewing my work visa for the fifth time I got a permenant residence, and five years later (as of like 4 months ago) i became eligible for citizenship
it was kind of hard for me because my family still lives in britain but i have to live my own life
>>150078800
You have to revoke your prior citizenship prior to being approved for citizenship
Yeah..i know.
>>150078798

Why wouldn't I want to be forced to spend 2 years doing flashcards when I could be fluent in 1.

Wanikani™ is single-handedly responsible for my 日本語 (Japanese) fluency. Thanks to Wanikani™, I learned over 2000 漢字 (kanji) and 6000 単語 (words) in only 2 years, enough to pass the Japanese exam JLPT N3 - equivalent to Japanese fluency.

So what happens if they deny you lol
Fuck dude just marry a Japanese girl, have 15 kids together and they will get citizenship. Then just use them whenever you want to travel back.

Finished all hiragana in Memrise and currently doing some vocab and sentences; am I wasting my time?
>>150082850
>finished all hiragana
does that mean you haven't done katakana yet
if so then get on it buster
>>150082815
>have 15 kids together

このあと滅茶苦茶セックスした
>>150082919
So is memrise shit then because I don't seen any katakana until stage 2 which is like 300 words/phrases later.
>>150081906
What kind of job do you have and what's Japan like?
>>150083404
it means go memorize kana on realkana or kanateacher and then go do tae kim
don't just do flashcards before you have a decent reason to
Since I've only ever used languages whose writing system's are based on the Latin script I don't really feeling like I'm "reading" when parsing through a text that contains logograms. This will go away after sufficient exposure though, right?
>>150083981
yes
>>150083981
maybe
>>150083981
What do you mean by the feeling of reading?
>>150083981
you're asking if the feeling of unfamiliarity will go away after you become familiar with the language. take a guess
悪名高い
