there doesn't seem to be a way to skip the stuff on this episode, as it helps conclude the current arc (which introduces Usagi and Shirayuki, and partly says stuff about the East/West war); if this arc ends in this episode, I don't think that skipping it altogether would've been enough to fit the whole school entrance arc in its place.

I wonder why this arc wasn't made to be longer in the manga, by giving more focus to the training of the other elite class members. The author often skip training, and rather show what new techniques everyone got on the next matches they participate in. The anime added more to the training before elite class compare to the manga, for instance.

One reason may be that by doing so he can surprise the readers during the matches with what the characters have came up, instead of showing or giving an idea beforehand. Add to that the fact that Nozomi often come up with new things during actual matches.

The current arc is another example. He completely skipped the training camp, just telling they all leveled up a lot on it, and instead is showing how they improved with the matches in the tournament.

I used to feel like she was losing for a lot of time (in her debut matches), even though it's understandable and acceptable (for me) for her to be losing, but then I started seeing the chinese scanlations and then it felt like the problem isn't Nozomi, she actually spends quite a little time losing, it was me having been used to weekly english scanlations (compared to the current average of over 2 weeks per chapter), and thus thinking that she was losing for a much longer time.

agree, not a big deal, in fact it's more believable for Miyata to be able to stall her match against Rin for 5 minutes than 15 (I misremembered the class exchange matches as 10 minutes).

The change I had in mind (besides the match duration) is Rin's 30 ass attacks in the anime (3rd ep), as opposed to 9 attacks in the manga, not a big deal either.

I only wanted the last match to happen at night because it would both be cooler this way, and because some of the moves the 3rd ribbon uses, and her final boss-ness remind me so much of Geese's, I can almost hear her say "Predictabo!"

She did lose races off-screen. It was mentioned she didn't win her first competition as pro too, although she did perform much better than Nozomi at the start of her career to the point where she got confirmed to raise to A class while Nozomi was still struggling to reach that point by the end of their first semester.

I think that the former elite class girls might need some special training to reach the level of the goketsu, who in turn might push themselves to their limits to play at their peak condition before retirement.

Either the series can have Keijo become an olympic sport, thus bringing international competitors, and/or there might be new, unknown characters trying to beat the goketsu before the former elite class girls do it. I wonder if, in case the series lasts for long enough, we'll see Nozomi and the others become instructors like Shirayuki and the other active players, or sisters to newer players.

Finally, I think that the tournament arc may be focused on Nozomi, since the tournament organizer (Hip Party girl, a.k.a. I started reading it because the synopsis sounded interesting, uncommon, then I saw that the MC was smart (in her own way), and I like stories which emphasize good decision making and creativity.
