Tbh, it's on a hiatus... the author started writing mainstream manga, such as Monster X Monster... but he said he'll pick up someday.

Luckily, the translator hasn't finished translating all the chapters yet, so there still are regular updates.

I'll give it credit. It inserts an OC as MC with unique special powers, but it doesn't give the feeling of isekai bullshit. Maybe because I haven't played DQ in forever, or because it feels like a homage instead of self-insert fanwank.

The power progression is decent, and lots of non-MC characters get good screentime or events.

It starts a little slowy, but picks up quite fast (The first chapters are really related to DQV. About chapter 10 the story starts being more original).
