The episode title I believe was either Rosen Queen or Path of Roses, so it was clearly going to be about Sumire, and then in the first minute she even says "I'll go for it even if there's a chance I'll fail". But by the time she's actually up there on stage, singing her heart out second to last in the order, all I could focus on was her—and that's exactly why I couldn't see her fall coming. It was incredible that me and many others were induced into that state of oblivion despite all the clues we had. It showed how truly, really special that appeal was.

Then finally the final episode. It really encapsulated everything that I loved about Aikatsu. Fun, friendship, music, laughter, and like what I've learned from the show that Idols really do manage to put smiles on everyone's face.

I was hoping for the final song in the show to be with Soliel and Luminas and I'm really happy with how they sung Calendar Girl. It was the perfect song to end the series. Then Akari's birthday caught me off guard but was the perfect, PERFECT way to cap off the show. Akari's uncertainty about the race, her trailing behind Ichigo with Ichigo glancing back to see if she was still behind her, then finally ending with the two of them scaling Angely Mountain for the first time together and Akari finally surpassing Ichigo to the top. That sudden cut to the ED while Akari whispered what she wanted surprised me, but the final end was, again, perfect. Did they become a unit and if so do they have a name?

Overall I really enjoyed Aikatsu, the only bit of the series that I wasn't to big of a fan of was the Seria arc. But once her screen time lowered, and her fewer appearances made me appreciate her more, I really enjoyed her character. It was like that with Mizuki as well, I didn't really like her at the start but then when her screen time disappeared every appearance she made afterwards I loved and she easily grew to be one of my favorite characters.

The final Aikatsu Aphorism with Akari being flustered about calling Ichigo Ichigo shows that she has a little ways to go yet. But I'm really proud of her, she was a joy to watch growing up from the Ichigo fangirl into an Idol who can inspire others.

That could just be a regional thing. If you look at Starlight vs DreAca, they do a lot of things different such as DreAca has a bunch of high tech state of the art science training equipment where Starlight just does things the old fashioned way.

It would make sense for Four Star Academy not to know Starlight because they're just middle/high schools. You may remember when you were in Middle School that your school may have had a rival school in a sport, but you probably didn't have any idea what school won whatever state/regional/country wide competition for any of the years you attended.

Personally, I think you're seeing something greater than it really is because you're seeing it through the eyes of a student whose world revolves around Aikatsu and its like those pokedex entries that state a pokemon is hotter than the sun. I remember an episode where there was random people that didn't know who Mizuki was, and the famous song writer in the movie didn't know who Mizuki was either.

Ichigo and Hime could just be really popular in their own region, like how Kokone was really popular in her area but no one in Starlight knew her catchphrase.

For AD, maybe 3-4 episodes/day, some episodes are more integral than others and are spread somewhat evenly, the last 12 episodes should be a marathon.
For DMF, I'd say 1-2 just because most episodes in the first 3/5 of the series are somewhat monotonous and inconsequential so it's easier to burn out on it, at around the episode 33 mark you can marathon through to the end I think.
For RL it's not really a choice, you sit there and you end up watching uncontrollably because nearly every episode is a happening or ends on a cliffhanger.
