Any moe slice-of-life show is most definitely not entry level, all though it may seem that way in this echo chamber.

I'm sure a few of you know other anime fans. I've talked to people about series like monogatari, prison school, Keijo, and even more soppy stuff like Clannad (those are at least semi-entry shows but that's my point). Never, ever have I once told anyone that I like K-ON, even though its one of my favorites. The same goes for Yuru Yuri, NNB, New Game, etc. I don't know how many of my pals are closet moe fans, so I don't want to risk exposing myself. If were to have my parents catch me watching some more embarrassing anime series, I would rather them see something like High School of the Dead or Keijo than K-ON. The former will just elicit "oh he's just a guy enjoying the tits and the over-the-top-ness", while the latter would making my folks fucking alarmed and worried. "Why are you watching a kid's show about little girls? Are you a pedophile?" Seeing how I like a show that just about friends doing nothing, people will also think I'm a lonely sack of shit (true). If you actually do talk to friends about moe shows you're all fucking autist and you know it

Before you say "well I don't talk to people about anime" or something, consider this. Was something like K-ON really entry level for you starting out? Did you really watch Cowboy Bebop and then go straight into K-ON? 99% of people here would say no. For those of you who aren't just trolling, an entry level anime is something that has mass crossover appeal. Films like Akira and GiTS (perhaps especially because they're films) and shows that maintain a level of familiarity with people like Cowboy Bebop and PnSwG are entry level. And of course all of the shounen shit that has an international appeal to tween to teenage boys.

Entry level is NOT anime that are simply popular. That would be like saying Love Live is entry level.
