I have never seen a Makoto Shinkai peice as well and have no interest in the plot and will just see it because its an anime film in cinemas. I have heard it looks very pretty though.

of course it was. the relationship between the two characters was poor and shallow, but shinkai tried (too hard) to make it seem like it was an extremely deep connection.

Actually pretty good, impeccable production values, interesting story, narrative style falters but is still overall solid, 7/10.
