This is a lonely and repressed girl who spent a little too much time on the internet in lieu of forming healthy relationships with her peers, not a tsundere.

Is anyone actually being literal when they say that she's tsun though?

She is a tsundere. She's just well written.
>>
>>149054181
Well written though she is, she resembles the archetype in my opinion.
>>

Resembles? Aren't there older characters from older series that do a better job of that?

She's a tsundere. Even her husbando calls her a tsundere.

Tsundere or not, Christina a cute.
>>
>>149054181
tsunderes don't need to be well written. They write themselves.

S;G was terrible time travel fiction. It brought nothing new to the genre and made some terrible mistakes.
Namely her. Her relationship with Okabe was supposed to be undone, but at the end of the series she is in the dere stage. Where is the tsun? it should have been reset.

If the world lines thing were correct in real life, which we can never prove of course, you can't jump to another one anyway unless your wormhole is 6 dimensional. Since they don't mention that, I'll just assume the idiot that wrote it doesn't actually know anything about that theory.

But who cares, WAIFUS GAIZ, RITE? AM I RITE?

No.

Also the ending was a fucking copout to avoid making all the otakus cry about losing their waifu.

Presumably the japs have one similar enough that the translation team decided on using that meme.

Yea that was the other thing. Was he actually travelling in time? Because it sounded like his memories (and maybe consciousness) were being moved to another time line. Which means there's still a version of himself left behind. Not to mention all of the other characters who are always left behind.
So what's even the point of time travelling?
To get his consciousness to a happier world (if it even works like that)?

>>149056259
No, something was written to that effect, and the translators "localised."

>>149056433
Only one world line exists at a time. They aren't parallel universes.
>>
>>149056433
Every time he time traveled, he was essentially destroying the worldline he was on and creating a new one, and the only things that are kept from the previous timeline were extremely vague memories for most people due to Reading Steiner. Because Okabe had a more severe case of Reading Steiner, his consciousness and all of his memories were transferred.

I don't get what you mean by IRL. Non-anime fiction?
Anyway parallel universe stuff typically doesn't call itself time travel. Essentially it isn't, since you are travelling between worlds rather than up and down your own time line (though others may be behind or ahead technologically).
Also the genre has its own tropes (eg: evil version of a friend, running into yourself), rather than trying to undo mistakes.

Jet Li's The One does some nice parallel universe stuff. Kill your parallel universe selves to gain their power.
The Parallax really explores the idea of parallel universes. It's set up kind of like Star Gate.
Recently Dark Matter has moved into parallel universes since their teleportation device stuffed up.
>>
>>149056753
It is a classic ends-where-it-begins time travel story with elements of it-was-me-all-along. Except it was obvious from episode one that that was what was happening.
The only way to successfully pull it off is to throw in some obfuscation or red herring, otherwise it is just spoiling itself. There are lots of time travel stories out there, so you need to be more complex than that.

Predestination did it really well. You discount the possibility of an it-was-me-all-along plot because the main character had a sex change then fucked himself to manipulate himself into time travelling.
>>
>>149057624
World lines in real world physics are the paths that objects take through space-time.

>Anyway parallel universe stuff typically doesn't call itself time travel. Essentially it isn't, since you are travelling between worlds rather than up and down your own time line (though others may be behind or ahead technologically).

These aren't parallel universes though. They're alternate configurations that are destroyed and created instantaneously if information or matter is sent to the past of the future.

S;G's world line model provides a viable theory that does not violate the laws of causality and can also function without physical time travel.

It is not properly explained in the anime and therefore is not supposed to make sense.
The VN is not some companion novel for further explanation, despite what some people insist. If it didn't happen in the anime, then it didn't happen. I'm not going to double down on a bad choice.

You need to change your system locale to Japanese and to mount the install disc.
You can use daemon tools, or I believe windows 10 has the functionality natively.
>>
>>149057074
Well kind of. A world line is a version of the universe in 6 dimensions, allowing for all possible outcomes of the universe's state at any given time given the initial conditions of the it's creation (due to random quantum flucuations resulting in chaos theory). There is an infinite number of world lines with a different branch for every possible deviation in the universe's state at any given time as a result of any action.

A world line is not technically a parallel universe, it's the same universe at a different point in the 6th dimension. They all exist at once.
>>
>>149070026
Is there a guide anywhere? Yeah I'm running w10, but I wasn't sure about it being compatible. I haven't changed system locale before.
>>
>>149070053
>They all exist at once.

>>149070102

>>
>>149070026
You don't need to do that with the official translation.
>>
>>149060761
It is entirely possible to have one time line and not get paradoxes aside from information loops, which are only strange because we can't perceive in 4 dimensions.

You just have to realize that since causality is an absolute, this means it is possible to see the outcome of an action before it is taken. That means if you see yourself pop through a wormhole, shoot your best friend dead and then leave, you already know that's going to happen and you're going to do that - there's no way to avoid it, because if you hadn't done it, you wouldn't have seen yourself do it.

It's the same universe. It's just a 6 dimensional space, which allows for all possible states of our typical 4 dimensional universe to exist simultaneously.

There is, of course, no way to prove the universe is 6 dimensional. There's a theory that the 5th dimensions may only be visible to us a Planck length slice at a time and thus extremely difficult to find, but beyond the 5th it is utterly impossible to prove higher dimensions exist, and at present we can only prove 4.
>>
>>149070364
>It's the same universe. It's just a 6 dimensional space, which allows for all possible states of our typical 4 dimensional universe to exist simultaneously.
But that is parallel universes. That's what they're parallel in; a higher dimension.
Though insisting that a universe is the same when there's infinity permutations based upon every differing choice and dice roll is a bit much.

The term "parallel universe" doesn't really work, because when you get to the 7th dimension, where multiple universes are allowed, the thing that differentiates universes is initial conditions. In the 6th dimension you're looking at a single set of initial conditions playing out in the exact same space. Due to random quantum fluctuations, chaos theory plays out and thus in the 6th dimension you can see simultaneously all the possible lower-dimensional variants of the universe that spring from its initial conditions. The concept of universe starts getting fuzzy at that point - technically, the entire 6D object is one universe, it is everything that exists given those initial conditions that define what it can be. But people don't usually use "universe" that way, as your confusion shows. So sometimes they shift to calling it a "phase space" - off the top of my head, forget where they get that term from.

What you have to understand is it's not a separate universe - other world lines simply would /look/ to us like other universes because we can't perceive dimensions higher than 4. If you were a 6 dimensional being looking at our "universe", it would be simply an imperceptibly thin slice of the entire actual universe.
