http://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Trends/China-Japan-to-team-up-in-3bn-anime-market?page=1

>The next generation of Chinese 21-year-olds -- those born in the 2000s -- will be a different bunch and could offer Japan's animation industry an unprecedented opportunity to blitz into the Chinese market, which has so far been dominated by Disney, Hollywood and South Korea, according to a panel discussion held in Tokyo on Tuesday.

>"Those that will be 21 five years from now grew up watching Japanese animation and they understand Japanese culture and trends in ways that those born in the 1980s never have," said Hu Ming

>Yang Xiaoxuan, vice president of iQiyi, China's largest online video site, said that when her company released "Seisen Cerberus" -- a Japanese animation series based on a role-playing mobile game -- in China, it was watched by 140 million people in the first three months. "The animation market in China will be at least worth 20 billion yuan ($3 billion)," she said.

>Yuichi Takahashi, CEO and president of Japanese broadcaster TV Tokyo Holdings agreed, saying Japanese and Chinese producers should collaborate from the very beginning of content production

China doesnt like Japan, I think something about completely forgetting what happened since 1920 to 1950.

Both Korea arent fond of then either, you just dont hear much from it from the South for US reasons.

Japan isnt going to enter the Chinese market since China have a axe to grind with them, they tolerate certain things but culturally?

I call bullshit on this. I don't know what it was like for those born in the 80's, but the escalation of censorship in recent years have closed down a ton of anime sites (not sure about anime on tv), so there should be less weebs in the 2000's generation than say the 90's.

Have people missed how they are already making Chinese comics/webtoons(?) into anime lately. Last season we had Hitori no Shita: The Outcast with main characters Zhang and Baobao and they're dropping Chinese sounding town names constantly, they didn't even try to pretend it was set in Japan despite speaking everyone speaking Japanese. And there is a new show this season called Bloodivores where everyone has chinese sounding names but the locations are more generic this time.
Both of them are like super low quality of course but if they are successful there could be decent chinese adaptions in the future on par with usual Japanese LN/manga adaptations.
>>
>>148834093
People missed them because they're made by nobodies, people will start to notice when they get people like butcher, Mizushima or Sawano on the staff.

Retard.
Why should a Japanese anime not use Japanese voice actors?
How would the director be able to make sure the voice acting is up to snuff if he can't even understand it?
Let localizers take care of Chinese voices if localization must be done. I find it silly that a movie (or series) should be voiced in the same language as the language spoken in the place where it's set. There is no good reason for that.

I think 21 year olds now probably fit the bill for what they're thinking of, but if the new generation doesn't grow up watching conan and doraemon because of the gov, it's hard to say they'll be weebs.

>So China will replace SK as slave labor?

China will simply learn more from the Japanese and then skip the japanese animation houses and release "chinese anime" on their own. Watch those japanese anime companies all die off and have their IP bought by the chinese companies penny on the dollar.

Bloodivore is a chinese anime out this season. It's bankrolled by chinese company Ten Cent. If the mainstream anime market starts to get filled up by chinese-made productions, then the falling royalties might doom the financially weak anime companies.

Well, if Trigger and Gainax go bust, maybe a chinese company and buy it and release the sequel for P&S.
>>
Do Chinese have good taste?

There's over a billion of them compared to 140 million Japanese, they'll stomp them in taste.
>>
>>148824920
>Chinese have mostly the same animu tastes as the Japanese nowadays, just -more- "mainstream".

The problem with chinese production style vs japanese production style is that chinese shows far more often SKIP what they feel is "unnecessary" justification. For example, in Bloodivore, suddenly the MC and MC2 have a convenient power lifting cable appear next to them. Too jarring. Then the machinery does what they need despite no controls available in mid-air on a winch cable. At least the japanese production would find some way to justify that, but inconvenient details like this are constantly skipped in Bloodivore.

The chinese shortcut mentality is not an improvement on how anime should be done.
