In the near future humans gain the ability to see clearly into dreams, contrary to expectations involving government espionage and other nefarious bullshit. The new technology instead becomes the cornerstone of a new generation of film-making techniques involving the use of mentally stable individuals with the capacity to harmoniously weave scenes and characters in such a way that cuts costs and vastly improves the qualities of movies compared to traditional film techniques.

However, with growing expectations and the increasingly large responsibilities placed on single individuals, the industry becomes a hotbed for illegal and experimental drugs and chemicals made with the purpose of increasing dream clarity and deepenin the reality of the dream. Coupled with this are the not entirely understood long term side-effects of using the dream machine that are only now coming to light including early onset Alzheimer's and increased risk of aneurysms later in life which, due to pressure from the general public forces the government to set a limit on how many years a single dreamer is allowed to work in the industry before being forcibly retired.

Our protagonist is an old player who has been around since the beginning of the technology and has set precedents for excellence in the industry. With his retirement period on the horizon he takes on one final job to dream up a novel that tells the story of a murder mystery in a small town, an event that bears striking resemblance to his own past. The protagonist struggles to bring to life the story without personalizing it and injecting his own past which he has long worked to put behind him, and the compounded psychosis like effects of his work related drugs only serve to hasten his withdrawal from reality and his fall into an unending nightmare teetering between fiction and a truth that he has worked to escaped from.

Things get worse when the producer finds himself alone with her and confesses his love for her. She rejects his advances and insults him. Producer swears vengeance.

The seiyuu's wife meets with her real lover and he asks her to run away with him. Producer-san brings the seiyuu to watch just in time to see his wife passionately kissing another man. The smoothtalking lover flees and the seiyuu flies into a rage, demanding to know who he was. The other actors urge him to calm down and shield his wife from his wrath.

During a live group recording of the final confrontation between the cucked samurai character, the lover, the accomplice, and his wife the seiyuu loses his shit and demands his wife tell him the truth for once. The watching fans and staff are awed by the highly emotional dialogue between the actors until everyone realizes they're shouting and crying about their IRL marriage. The seiyuu's wife tries to play it off as part of the show but it's too late.

The seiyuu uses the "prop" katana to kill her as she screams the name of her lover to help her. And then he lunges into shocked group of observers and kills her boyfriend too.

Laughing maniacally until he breaks down in tears, he declares the end of the show.

It's badly burned inside. Several charred bodies. Also found: another leader. A guy identical like a twin. He never had a twin. Things begin to deteriorate. Both are brought along. Downwards to the next airship.

The ship is in good shape. It is also inhabited. By about 2/3rds of identical copies of the class.
They tell of how the missing third betrayed them and demand that their "copies" be locked up for the common good. This is done. One or two "copies" disappear. No way to tell which copy is left is there? Fights, arguments and speculation run rampant. The class falls apart into factions. One faction flees the escalating violence downwards.

What will their fate be?

Well, it was a bunch of orphans who wake up in a stairwell. There were two ways to go, up or down. I forget what their rationale was, but I think they decided to go up, and honestly, if it were me, I would have likely gone down, but anyway, they went up, and the book was really about them climbing these stairs, but there are food dispensers but they only open if do certain actions and the actions got worse and worse over time, and anyway, in the end it was some dumb government experiment to make child soldiers.

Protagonist acquires supernatural powers. Rather than become a proper hero, he promptly goes on a powertrip from which he never exactly comes down from. Not that he doesn't ever help people, as he's not heartless or anything, it's just that his motives never comes across as pure or heroic. He usually does it to show off, abuse his abilities without having to feel guilt, or to get rid of something that makes him uncomfortable.

The main story starts up when he starts encountering other beings with powers like his own, and it's revealed that they really aren't all that much different from him. They might sometimes have more solidly defined ideals or goals, or they might not, but they're all basically just using their power to follow their whims and force their will on those weaker than themselves. Some used to be ordinary people, like himself, while others were always otherworldy beings.

The story's themes are concerned with what sort of people they've become, since they're now able to do as they will and few people can stop them. While the MC isn't the best among them, he's far from the worst and becomes highly disturbed by what he sees from many of the others, even many of those who are trying to be heroes. Many of the conflicts start because he feels the need to correct the others somehow, or to restore his own peace of mind, so he can go back to fucking around and toying with people on his own terms.

In ancient Japan a powerful half yokai king marries a beautiful human girl. They produce 4 splendid children. Sadly, their mother dies of illness.

The heartbroken king eventually marries the human girl's sister, who secretly hates the children because he adores them more than her.

The evil stepmother is a witch to boot and turns the poor children into cranes. And the terms of the spell are that they will spend 300 years on a lake where their father will unwittingly care for them, 300 years on the pacific coast where nothing bad or good happens, and 300 years on the Sea of Japan where they will suffer terribly.

Only then would they be freed by a holy gong. One day the children befriend a wandering boddhisattava who builds a buddhist temple and gong for them. But suddenly the daughter of the emperor demanded to see the famously beautiful birds. As they were taken captive the gong was sounded and they turn back into humans. They quickly wither and die, but are reincarnated into the highest heaven to be with their mother.

The evil stepmother is turned into a hideous yokai, gets killed by villagers, and thrown into the pits of naraka before getting reincarnated as a korean

The end

The Earth is being invaded by an advanced alien race. Humanity's militaries have proven unable to even slow them down. Only the sheer scale of occupying a planet has left any of the planet free. The MC is an average high school boy living in Japan, one of the areas the aliens have not gotten around to occupying yet. Oh his way to school, he sees a plane crash. It turns out to be an alien fighter. He manages to pry open the cockpit, and inside he finds an unconscious girl. He pulls her out and runs away before the police and military arrive to claim their prize. He takes the girl back to his house, as the authorities begin their search for the pilot. The girl wakes up and speaks Japanese. She tells the MC she has no memories of who she is. The MC decides to protect her by claiming she's his cousin from overseas until her memories return. So begins his daily life with the amnesiac alien pilot who appears to be human.

In you typical high fantasy setting evil and good have always been in a locked battle against each other. Every time Heroes would defeat evil, a new evil would just pop up not much time later bringing in destruction.

To end this the people of the world created two marks tied by fate that would be randomly placed on two individuals upon their birth. The Mark of Good which is the representation of all the good in the world, and the Mark of Evil which is the representation of all the evil in the world..

The person who would be born with the Mark of Evil would be destined to gather all the forces of evil in the world under one army and take over the world (for a short while) then proceed to be slain by the Mark of Good who bring in an era of peace for X-amount of eras, and this would be repeated in a cycle 9 times.

The 10th person born with the Mark of Evil has decided not to do any of this because of fuck fate. They are now a homeless, 28 year old man with a beard living in the streets of their country's capital doing homeless things, finding a place to sleep at night, working some odd jobs to survive the week, and helping random people from poor slum folks like him- to city guards- to Heroes while hiding/denying the fact they are the incarnation of evil in the world.

Tl:dr - Homeless man is evil incarnate and is destined to take over the world, but decides to say fuck all that as if you have your life decided for you, you're a pussy who's not living your life correctly, and he does random things in the capital city he lives at and helps people.

Humans find a portal to an isekai buried in Antarctica, a whole dimension filled to bursting with magic, minerals, and creatures with the potential to revolutionize our world's economy and jump start an arms race that would end with giant robots absorbing the earth to power up and destroy the solar system.

But it's incredibly expensive to send matter over to the other side or have it return. Sending a small mammal is enough to bankrupt a third world nation. considering this. Japan, China, Russia, USA, France, Germany, UK, Australia, Korea, and Brazil each pour a ridiculous amount of resources into building a functional transporter and in turn earn the right to select a single crew member of the ten man crew that will be sent over in order to secure specimens, establish alliances with locals, and if possible find a method to quickly and efficiently transport from our world to theirs.

Each member of the crew is instructed by their government to cooperate superficially but to reduce the number of survivors from the other nations by as much as possible and smuggle whatever specimens they can to give their own country a headstart in the coming economic and military upheaval.

The crew members themselves are separated and united by temporary alliances between countries such as the anglosphere or the eurosphere but also recognize that betrayal at any moment is a possibility and that the best outcome is themselves as the sole survivor and inheritor of the mission's materials and documents.

All of this is compounded by the sheer hostile nature of the world waiting for them on the other side and a transporter malfunction that sends them several kilometers away from each other and from the recall point where they'll be able to return home.

It's like GATE but not propaganda.
