Overall, David Production made a good anime.Objectively, a lot of the animation, direction, and music isn't terribly great, but I want to replace it in the context of a minor studio doing this job. It sorta evens out. It could have been better, but it would have been asking too much for DP. I can't say I love the anime though, it's a goodie, it's here to expose more the manga, which everyone should read.

To be frank, if the anime's cancelled, I wouldn't care much. Seeing the derailing that is DiU, I don't really want DP to continue adapting JJBA. JoJolion is scheduled for French publication soon anyway.

Araki trying to retcon his old ideas with his new ones. Remember how it was said in Part 1 that vampirism and Hamon mastery were two sides of the same coin? Both slow down aging, both have a special connection to sunlight, and both unlock hidden potential in the user's body. Because it would require a Stand to become the pinnacle of human perfection, it's reasonable to say that Hamon mastery or the stone mask, as vessels which push the body closer to perfection, could be considered precursors to the Stand ability. Add in a few vague hints at the beginning of Part 3 which seem to suggest a connection between Stands and Hamon (the name "Stand" originally being presented as a furigana reading of "Yuuhamon" or Ghostly Hamon, and Star Platinum fading when Jotaro loses his breath) and it's reasonable to assume that Hamon (and by extension, its complement the Stone Mask) is related to Stands, albeit it in a way that we don't see developed fully in the narrative.

So no, DIO did not develop The World from the Stone Mask, but it's possible that becoming a vampire helped accelerate his body toward the perfection required to manifest his Stand.

Araki makes some similar interesting comments in the Jojonium special interview about Part 3 Joseph implying that Joseph may have had Hermit Purple during the events of Part 2 because Hermit Purple is supposed to be a pictorial representation of Hamon:

Does this mean that all Hamon users are actually all Stand users with HP clones? Probably not, but it's interesting to consider. Araki has left a lot of lore undeveloped, and it was a deliberate decision to do so. Forming your own headcanon is more fun than demanding a bunch of retcon.
