Only an idiot thinks that shit is sad. All dying means in DBZ is waiting for your respawn timer. There was nothing even remotely sad about either of those moments.

Piccolo's death was sad, especially after how he bonded with Gohan.
And it meant something, because with him dead, the dragonballs were no more.

Vegeta's death was sad, not because he died as such but because Vegeta is the last person you'd expect to cry, and after you learn of his pain it's hard to not feel for the guy even after all of his wrongs.

Krillin's death wasn't much of an upset, but rather a shock.

Goku's farewell was pretty sad, especially after showing endearment to Gohan for once.
And again, this meant something with no Guardian at the time=no dragonballs either.

Vegeta's suicide was upsetting, especially after learning how troubled and conflicted he was at the time, and in the end he does whats right by giving his life for his family.

Though everything you mentioned sounds really fucking edgy.
