I had no issues with any of the other series, the movie, or OVA's CG. I just wish they didn't resort to it in as many close up shots as they did in BW. AIC did a pretty good job of holding off on the CG compared to hand drawn during the flight scenes when it would be really noticeable. Silver Link held onto the CG shot for too long I felt.

If I'm rating solely on a scale of first episodes that was like 9/10. Did you guys see how good the animation was? I'm perfectly fine with CG being used for some of the flying when it frees up animators to make the girls look as beautiful as they do in the important shots.

Also I was amazed by the pretty background stuff and great stormy weather. It's like they brought their NNB guys aboard or something.

It wasn't budget, but it was pretty much average across the board. There was really no atmosphere to a lot of scenes, they felt flat half the time. Maybe it was partially the music's fault though.

I wasn't talking purely animation by that. I mean I was impressed by the episode as an intro because I think a lot of shows like this have very poor, unexciting early episodes. Look at the other two SW seasons, or look at how fun Ange Vierge became after a total snoozefest of a first ep last season.

I was excited for the animation separately from that because I think it's a huge improvement from earlier seasons (not that S1 doesn't have its special charm points like Perrine's cuteness) and feels like the upper level of Silver Link's capabilities.

I like the OP and ED, and I haven't liked new anime OP and EDs for some time.
