I prefer yuri because yuri couples tend to spend time together and show affection for each other more or less openly. Hetero relationships in manga and anime tend to be platonic bullshit, treat the female like a trophy girlfriend instead of the other half of a relationship, and/or involve timeskips between the different stages of a hetero romance (skipping from friendship to being a couple to being committed to marrying to having children, without showing what happened in-between each stage that motivated the change in status).

That said, I will admit I´ve never really deeply analyzed romantic relationships in anime and manga. If anyone bothered to do it, feel free to prove me wrong.

I am exclusively attracted to men, so I like shows with close male relationships that can be interpreted as homo without pandering too much. Real BL is fine if it's good quality (like Doukyuusei), but that's rare.

Even so, I like yuri implications. I never seek it out but it's a pleasant addition to most shows and I think it's cute. I don't prefer het, there's usually excessive awkwardness because the relationship gets actual romantic development, and characterization gets dragged down because they have to fit gender roles properly.
