I didn't like how Merlin toyed with poor Vivian, was introduced to have some bullshit abilities like unrestrained teleportation and an instant magic eraser and then immediately fucked off to allow poor Hendy some time to shine. That was some A-grade bullshit. Her "fight" with Galan wasn't that much better since it showed that you had to be an impossible monster to counter some of her shit like that teleportation magic.

I can see it like this: Belial is the previous Demon King, Mel's father kills him and takes the throne. Merlin plots revenge, and when Mel betrays his father, they become allies. Her endgame very well could be sitting on the throne of demons. Then every nation has a friendly ruler. King is the Fairy King, Diane is the new Giant chief, Arthur is Camelot's king, Mel is Liones', and Merlin is the demons.
Maybe the whole reason for the Goddess-demon conflict is thanks to Mel's father. Belial coud be a fair ruler, and Mel's father started the war after sitting on the throne.

Anyone else feel like the manga has gone downhill since the Ten Commandments showed up?

They never should have bothered with power levels to begin with, but when the TC came into the picture, their PLs were 10x everyone else's, or more.

I haven't found any of the TC fights interesting so far. I'm not a fan of what happened to Hendricksen, he seems to kind of just be a generic good guy now.

Mel/Elizabeth is a boring pairing that is growing old at this point. Ban, King, and Diane have largely been useless for a long time now.

There's no sense of adventure anymore. When you make all the power levels and villains crazy strong, you actually narrow the scope of the world, making it less interesting.

I don't know, but it's getting better for me. We finally find out more about the world and backgrounds and I actually loved the Commandment fights. Especially Escanor vs Estarossa and Mel vs everyone. Also Mel vs Glox and Dolor was amazing from a tactical point of view, how Glox tried to heal Dolor and Mel tried to stop that. Only thing I had problem with is Diane getting her memories wiped again, but at least we got Matrona out of that.

Galan was the physical powerhouse of the Commandments. Remember the rest of them have been eating souls ever since they got released while Galan instantly jumped over and rekt the entire Holy Knight group and the Sins as well, minus Escanor, without even trying. He's way stronger than people give him credit for because if you haven't noticed, the primary fighting method of EVERYONE in the series aside from maybe Merlin and Gloxinia is still nearly all physical based. Even with 'magic' like the Giant's Earth control and shit, that is still physical damage at the end of the day and Galan no sold Dianes full on attack with no effort while she had her Holy Arnament.

Adding to what everyone else said, Graylord was only, well, a Grey Demon (Special) and Fraudrin is in a human body. So yeah, in terms of physical threats, they're not strong enough to take Merlin out immediately before she can blast them away with magic.

If Merlin improved Perfect Cube to take on Galan's casual level of strength, she'd probably be able to hold out better against the stronger Commandments, but who knows.
