I decided to watch pic related. Hadn't heard much about it so low expectations, though I do like a lot of I.G's stuff. Very cool setting, top-notch visuals, great soundtrack, atypical characters, passable plot. Good watch overall and it was nice to see a cyberpunk anime that didn't take the well-travelled dark, pessimistic route.

Then I googled to see what people thought of it.

I liked this more than SAC because it felt like something fresh from Shirow.

The chubby girl is nice although her finding the old guy attractive was really odd. The opening and ending don´t fit well this show.

Real Drive was my favorite show in the year it came out. And I agree. A large part of that is because I prefer bright, optimistic settings over gritty, dark settings. This is why I also really like Angelic Layer.

But aside from that, I liked most everything else from the show. Also like Angelic Layer, this show relied on its character interaction instead of story conflict. About the only thing I didn't like was the very awkward dog episode.

~~Full disclosure however, I am a chubby lover. So I got into the show based on the character design. And it did not disappoint.~~

Agreed. I started skipping them pretty early on. And the OP especially made no sense. It would have fit better for some Naruto opening. Even the words didn't have anything to do with the show.
