If you write in decent english, people will hardly find out, I also found this sometime ago.
The fewer people who can moon AND are reading your translation will only actually check if they see something that feels utterly wrong, and that's only prompted by bad/inconsistent dialogue and weird grammar.

A few years ago I was editing a tank based on an existing magazine translation made by a well-known translator (who is not thankfully active anymore) and noticed several discrepancies between the text and the translation (I picked up some very limited moon vocabulary from doing editing works so I noticed); I thought it was just the author that changed the text between the magazine and the tank but nope, the translator pretty much made a lot of shit up and got perfectly away from it. He basically even changed the ending due to his shitty translation. Ended up having it re-translated from scratch.

No, I first noticed that something was wrong when the translator got a couple of names wrong (which wouldn't be that weird were it not for the fact that the names had furigana). After that I double checked everything I was editing and a couple of bubbles looked really suspicious, so I asked an actual translator to proofread the whole thing and it turned out it was mostly wrong, which is why I got it re-translated.

The weird part is that I checked some of the other stuff translated by the guy and it seemed to be mostly okay, I don't know why this specific one turned out to be an eldritch abomination.

I'd say arguable... I only started translating to help me improve both moon and english, and although I agree I'd get more by reading something else, I think it helped me solidify my (shaky) grammar since I had to actually come out with the proper meaning of it.

That's why I try to help out other anons who are in the same path, it's not as hard as they make it be, but maybe they just don't see it.

That's probably a font problem, if the font has no glyph defined for the heart character it's going to show up as a rectangle
Try changing the heart font to one of the MS Japanese fonts (MS Mincho, MS Gothic or whatever)
