Mangaka get paid more than your average artist though. Also the "long hours" aren't really a problem since you love what you do.

Because it's still better than 12 hour shifts in an office

Because LNs are cancerous trash and animes often have to cut down too much content.
Manga is the only saving point of the medium and all artists are our heroes. They sacrifice their wellbeing so we can enjoy our superior manga.
